Good day,
I was notified my Wrath Era (forum) Petition Thread with thousands of views and hundreds of replies was deleted due to me adding a link that broke TOS by being an advertisement for the official petition. I apologize for breaking that rule.
I would like to remake a new thread without any semantics of a petition but in hopes of creating a centralized thread for discussion surrounding Wrath Era to clean up the forums and provide concentrated feedback. I think this is in the best interest of those who would like to request Wrath Era and those who do not wish to continue seeing so many threads.
I’ll start and I will keep my preferences subjective, while referencing objective differences between the game versions. I will also not reference data I cannot actually access or provide concretely as far as population or popularity:
I prefer Wrath Era realms as I find it to be the most fulfilling and complete version of the game according to my personal preferences. The untouched old world holds a special place in my heart while also permitting the use of heirlooms for my alts. This allows me to level up through questing or RDF, in the old world, with the use of heirlooms, which I thoroughly enjoy—features not available all at once in the vanilla era or Cataclysm and expansions beyond it.
Moreover, the Wrath Era includes more flying mounts than TBC, yet restricts flying in the old world—an aspect I prefer. Additionally, this version of the game grants me the freedom to enjoy these attributes without the concern of my characters progressing towards a near-current retail expansion every two years.
This is my opinion and analysis of the differences between the offerings, what’s yours?

You do know spamming the forums with the same topic is also against the rules?

Either way, we’ll get Wrath era servers so I’m not that worried. Private or official. The only question is if Blizzard wants that subscription money or doesn’t mind losing subscriptions.

Considering there are dozens of these threads created daily I doubt you’re going to get your centralized discussion.

While it’s true that I don’t really care where folks find their enjoyment in WoW… I am leaning towards not having a wrath server unless it’s a classic vanilla-Wrath fresh server…
No hold overs from the current game with mounts and other things that comes from this community of WoW classic.

People would skip ulda. I believe given the difficulty increase a fresh wrath would see people just skip ulda for trial and while they would do naxx for 213 i level gear and ulda badge set I think you can do trial at that level.

Just would like to address some concerns so far and make a couple of comments:
Yes, it’s a bit like herding cats. If anyone has some catnip, let me know.
I haven’t seen any other threads about consolidating the discussion. I have however, seen many comments requesting a centralized discussion. Technically this is not entirely a duplicate topic and could be productive, that is up to the end user.
Thank you to those providing on-topic discussion. We also don’t all have to agree here, feel free to debate. A lot of you are extremely intelligent and passionate, whether you agree with me or not. We could have some very productive discussion about this in one place which will be less irritating to the mods and to those sick of reading about it in multiple threads.

I agree that wrath is the most complete version of the game. Every class got upgraded instead of downgraded after BC. It’s the point before they had to suppress the talent trees and start changing core aspects of classes which got worse and worse with every expansion after wrath. Look at Death knights for example in the retail version. They’ve deviated so far from the original design that they’re hardly recognizable anymore.
As a player that primarily PvPs, I actually enjoy all the features of the game including raids and even dungeons with the new difficulty modes that keep them relevant as players progress with gear. ICC in my opinion is one of the best raids blizzard has made and I find it hard to get bored with. With that said I’d still be willing to pay a character clone fee to play cataclysm just because it’s something different but it would be great to be able to go back to the game I really love once that flavor wears off after a few months.

I agree with this sentiment, I’d also likely pay a clone fee to be able to access both!

Wotlk is a great expansion, reasonably fun dungeons, good class design for the content that’s available, meaningful professions, although I wish something like stormherald or lionheart executioner item progression existed at 80.
Good music, cool story lines and the full addition of armor penetration as a stat, more stat choices becoming available is always good.
Death Knight design is fairly solid, really interesting design choice in that all specs are different kinds of dps/tanks.
Raids for the most part are pretty good and fun to progress through, although Trial of the grand crusader was a little iffy, it was to its benefit a very short raid.
All in all a good expansion, not perfect but none of the expansions are perfect, I enjoy it and would like to keep playing it as is.

We didn’t get them for tbc so I highly doubt we will get one for wrath.

Exactly, right now it looks like an angry mob, but it’s improving. I’d suggest sharing the link to this forum to guildies/friends and proceeding to encourage positive feedback and continue herding if you really feel passionate about wrath era realms.
Personally going forward into Cata, but I have no problem with a wrath era realm if you guys can convince them

Sounds good! I am also going to be cautious of crossposting to other threads this time as that is also TOS and if this can grow without being taken down that would be spectacular. Thank you for your comment because that is a good suggestion to spread it.

you’re finally learning. Remember when I told you forums are not petitions. Aged pretty well
I do not recall
No but in seriousness, I really don’t want to be manually installing addons on a buggy pserver client, so I am trying to be receptive of feedback here. Thank you for your suggestion.

Is Blizzard aware that the forum mods are influencing the discussion on the forums to such an extent? Seems like the mod team really has a vested interest in preventing Wrath-Era servers, to the detriment of the player-base and Blizzard itself.

Thread reports are player driven. Players are making the reports because this topic is spammed to RDF thread levels and those had the same level of moderation these wrath era threads do.
There’s no conspiracy, this isn’t 1984, this is just bare minimum mod enforcement of the clearly posted and accessible forum rules.

To clarify, in full transparency, I was flagged as inappropriate. However, the reason for my 24 hour silence and removal of that thread was the link to a third party petition being considered an advertisement. None of the records I was emailed or in my inbox on the forums mentioned spam.

There’s only so much that the mods can do anyways so it doesn’t matter if they try to remove Wrath-era server threads. We’ll just keep posting them until we get Wrath-era servers and the discussion will continue no matter how upset and butthurt the anti-wrath-trolls are.
