A man of culture who understands the Alchemy + enchanting meta of making hilariously op weapons that are stronger then even daedric weapons

Since the year is coming to a close, I’m just going to say again - Valheim was my jam this year. I’m still playing TF out of it.

I never played Valheim. But since I have 100 dollars sitting on my steam account right now and have heard nothing but good things, I think I’ll give it a whff

You will build yourself a Viking legacy for the ages while Odin himself looks on and Thor rides the lightning above you, but first you’ll be killed by a tree.

10/10

We’ve been doing our annual GOTY awards on another forum and there’s been some good stuff. EW was absolutely my top choice, but I also had Kena: Bridge of Spirits, No Man’s Sky, and FH5 on my votes. I was really, really impressed with Kena and highly recommend it. Well worth the Best Independent at the Game Awards this year.

Playing through FF7R now that it’s finally on PC. Having a lot of fun with it and hearing the old jams again for a new era has been a blast. Kinda makes me worry about whether they will actually finish it, though, because dang this is a lot of game for what was basically the original’s tutorial.

I’ve weirdly been on a Dark Souls kick after not touching the franchise since inception. Finally in the right headspace for it, I guess.

Dark Souls 2 I was told was the easiest of the bunch but had gotten so infuriating for me that I went back to Dark Souls 1…and promptly missed features from DS2. So I started over again.

On a lark, I decided to pick up a Mace.

why did no one tell me? this is glorious. it’s like i was trying to cross an ocean with a paddle and have been introduced to a sail…

In one of my earlier games I was a dark elf with a ridiculous dragonbane enchant on a crappy iron dagger and then a bunch frost and fire resist plus the racial fire resist and the vampire frost resist. So dragons breathing on me did nothing and I’d run up and poke them to death with my stupid knife.

I also enchanted a crappy dagger with daedra banish., it was how i made most of my money the first time I played. I never did turn undead but that would have been probably a funny one to do in a nord tomb.

Alchemy and Enchanting are both nightmares to level up, but once you get them to cap, you’ve basically won the game.

Blacksmithing plus Potions of Smithing can make armor so strong you can survive a Giant’s overhand swing and barely flinch. Double-enchanted weapons dealing both paralysis and chaos-burst damage, and you’re dual wielding …

AND DID WE MENTION COMBO-STACKING POISON ATTACKS ON TOP OF THAT?

I managed to fist alduin to death on legendary difficulty by disenchanting those gloves with the unarmed damage enchant and put them onto a pair of hide gloves. Completely nude with only gloves for the cheese

I have definitely been on the FFXIV Endwalker bandwagon. The housing in that game is top-notch, and I can’t wait for the new residential district to open up to see if I can get a plot.

There hasn’t been that many MMOs catching my attention these days, other than that one. But, I am looking forward to Ashes of Creation, whenever that one comes out. I am on the hype train for it. I just hope I won’t be disappointed.

I should probably hop into New World and go chop some trees, build some furniture, and decorate a house. Something about the gathering in that game is SO satisfying. And the game itself does look great.

I never properly leveled alchemy because of the tedious nature of it but this run I plan to and have been stockpiling reagents to eventually power level through it.

I’m using bound weapons right now but considering going back to a real bow and weapons so I can enchant stupid stuff like that. Never thought about chaos+paralysis enchant combo lol

I been also watching lots of Elder Scrolls meme videos and saw one that someone did as an unarmed build and it was hilarious. They supplexed the Emperor to death LOL

PUT YOU IN THE CAMEL CLUTCH AND MAKE YOU HUMBLE!

If you’re serious about Alchemy, a few Potions that’ll come in handy for not only leveling Alchemy, but most importantly, making a ton of money.

Fortify Barter Potion requires one Dragon’s tongue and one Tundra Cotton. The effect will only last 30 seconds, but will stack with barter bonuses from the Religious Necklaces and, if the item ever drops for you, Fortify Barter enchantments. Get the most bang for your buck vendoring all that crap you take off the corpses of whatever looks at you for longer than five seconds.

Fortify Smithing Potion requires one Blisterwort and one Glowing Mushroom. Add this ontop of a set enchanted specifically to improve smithing and you can make hilarious gains to even basic armor. Smithing is ironically one of the easier skills to level with the addition of the Hearthfire DLC, since you need so many nails, locks and brackets, but it’ll also help level your alchemy and can make more money selling improved armor to vendors than you could selling just the basic versions.

Fortify Enchantment Potion requires Snowberries and BLUE Butterfly Wings. This is one of the few potions where you can’t grow all the resources yourself, but butterflies are very common in Skyrim and you get two wings per butterfly, so that helps. Again, combine with a set of low-weight clothing to improve your enchanting before taking the potion as you’ll only have 30 seconds before the potion wears off.

Paralysis poison requires one Canis Root and one Imp Stool. Arguably one of the cheapest and easiest potions to make, and it sells quite well. Also it is nice to have a few of these on hand just in case you’re fighting something tough, like a Hag Raven or a Cave Bear at low levels. Slap it on an arrow and hit the Hag Raven at range, she falls down and then has to get back to her feet while you run up into melee range so you don’t tank a fireball barrage to the face, or hit the Cave Bear with it and try to maneuver your Companion to get their face eaten instead while you shove 80 wheels of cheese down your throat to heal.

Ravage Health Poison requires Giant Lichen and Jazbay Grapes. One of the more useful poisons, Ravage Health actually decreases the maximum health of the target for a set duration. This not only decreases their health, but it means any healing they receive will only ever heal to the decreased amount. Drop something from 200 hitpoints to 150, doesn’t matter what healing they receive while the Ravage is in place, they’ll only heal to 150, and when the effect ends, they’re still missing 50 hitpoints. It is disgustingly cheap to make and sells for quite a nice sum of money.

Healing Potion requires one Blue Flower and one Wheat. It is basic, vanilla and stupidly easy to churn out a billion of them with how easy it is to get your hands on some wheat and blue flowers, given how many plants are out in the world. Easy leveling and let’s be honest, your companions could do with a few stacks of these in their inventory (looks at Lydia meaningfully) and they’ll sell well, especially once you level the alchemy skill-tree up and improve the healing qualities of the potion.

Furthermore, Wheat and Blue Flower will also Fortify your health. So you’ll not only heal, your health total will increase for a short duration, which is always useful, regardless of character build, if you’re needing to suck down a healing potion to get EXTRA THICC before that Daedric Warhammer connects with your face.

Thanks for the advice!

I do have a collection of haggling potions I’ve collected during my adventuring but my biggest problem with survival mode is I saunter into town to sell my crap yet the only merchant in town has 53 gold and I’m trying to sell them a pile of 2k enchanted ebony warhammers lmao

“How much for this ebony warhammer!!”

“I’ll give yah 53 gold my friend.”

“Surely you know the real value for such a fine warhammer?”

“I said 53 gold!”

EVE Online is doing an official Crossover with Doctor Who.

I picked up Cyberpunk 2077 last month and, overall, it seems pretty decent now. Whole thing still seems kinda jank at times, but the lower price and perspective of it being worse at launch really helps me look past some of the more minor issues still present. I suppose it may also help that I didn’t care much about it throughout its development, and am therefore free of the baggage that any built up hype might’ve caused.

Do you think they will put player housing in this game
