I made a dwarf there a while back and there’s a pretty decent dwarf rp community on the Laurellin server, where the RP tends to be. It’s EU though so you might get that good old international latency.
Not sure where the Hobbit community is at.

I got zOMG to work again after downloading a different browser and Adobe Air to get the flash game to play. Ah Gaia Online, what nostalgia.
Free to play MMO with no classes, just a giant system of abilities you collect and level up in the form of rings so you can personalize your skill set. Plus the ultimate customization options cause you have an entire dress-up site to pick from, wink wink. Nudge nudge.
people still play zOMG? the gaia online MMO?
Amazingly, yes. I am in fact at a Dev meet in the center of town right now, that they apparently host every Friday! I am amazed and delighted to see the community has survived the death of Flash.
Not an MMO but Outer Worlds is currently 67% off, dropping below $20 if anyone is just looking for a shooter-RPG to get lost in for a bit.
The “expansion pass” as well which for $19.99 will get you both of the big ol’ DLCs (currently $30) and whatever else they elect to toss out.
I’ve decided to work out my frustrations by razing the Old World to the ground with the Beastmen in Total War: Warhammer 2.
For those unfamiliar, imagine what would happen if the Tauren drank Demon Blood instead of Orcs.
I look forward to killing your beastboys as the Ubersreik Five.
So, the new saga on the Conan Exiles RP server has been interesting.
Instead of being our normal aggro selves, we decided to be more reactionary meso-american styled clan who hosts arena and sports events to help clans settle disputes.
So, a Nordhiemer clan challenged the new Kush clan to a series of games in our arena, thinking they’d win easily.
The Kush guys started putting their gear on and it was like the aliens turning into the Monstars from Space Jam followed by the first half of the game with how one sided the ensuing beat down was as the Kush crushed the Nords.
In my game the Ubersreik Five died screaming.
Died screaming to a generic lord.
(For the unfamiliar, the Ubersreik Five are the characters you can select in the Vermintide franchise. Creative Assembly got cheeky and added all five’s principle character classes to the Settlement Garrison of Ubersreik on the Mortal Empires map for Total War: Warhammer 2)
Stares at you in Khitan
My Conan Exiles RP server is on hiatus for a few days. It was going for a map switch to Savage Wilds, but then there was a glitch with the server host and both the live and test servers got deleted. The admin had 3 week old saves and the admin team had to work back from there.
I got to see a sneak peek into the new server because one of the team is visiting me for awhile. A lot of work goes into private servers and mods.
I expect our new map to drop this week. Everyone has rerolled, so it’s a fresh start. My new character is going to be the Conan version of Lara Croft.
I know Deep Rock Galactic has been mentioned before, but seriously, if you’ve got a rig that can run it and 2-3 friends down to be Stout Clowns, it is well worth the price of admission.
Equal parts Minecraft for excavation for resources, frantic shooter stuff aka GTFO and a lot of tech charm and boisterous nonsense from the Dwarves themselves.
Will you play it every night? Probably not. But 2 or three sessions a week with your drunken friends over discord all doing their most offensively inaccurate scottish impersonations and repeating every Gimli line they can think of while unloading heavy ordinance on some quite-frankly terrifyingly proportioned bug-monsters? It gives me that sweet, sweet serotonin.
Not a video game, but…
squints at Netflix who is making a live action Pokemon show and loads hunting shotgun cause has had so much of his childhood torn to pieces the past five years
I dunno, they’re also doing a Cowboy Bebop show and from what I’ve read it’s being pretty faithful.
EDIT: and going full circle, Ein is being played by a corgi who is named Ein after the character he will be playing.
This right here, this made my day. I am nourished and my crops flourish.
I mean, the Detective Pikachu movie wasn’t bad so maybeee?
idk
Update: An article on the Hollywood Reporter stated that the show is based off the card game, which leads me to believe that nobody at the Hollywood Reporter knows anything about Pokémon.
I was going to say, I went to Detective Pikachu mostly to watch the dumpster fire and left the movie wildly entertained.
I also enjoy the fact Pikachu was so gravely wounded by a seemingly small rock during the Tortella scene because Electric types are weak to Rocks/Ground. That was ATTENTION TO DETAIL.
Cough. I heard there was no Edward. Did that change?
I was a little odded out by the big reveal.
This. Very much this.
Meh, if it was the same reveal from the game I never played we can say its accurate.
And tbh, why hasn’t that been like a major villain scheme instead of something dumb like “make more earth”?
Guess he didn’t invest in defense EVs. What a nerd
I mean…
First Gen: “Mwhahaha evil!”
Second Gen: “Mwhahaha evil and we miss our dad.”
Third Gen: "More Land! More Sea!’
Fourth Gen: “Let’s just blow up reality!”
Fifth Gen: “Hey guys, did you guess PETA was evil?”
Sixth Gen: “Blow up the planet because screw you we have money.”
Seventh Gen: “Let’s just drag beings from another dimension into our reality because wildly obsessive and possessive. Would you like to see my Freezed Dried Pokemon collection?”
Eighth Gen: “This energy crisis 1000 years into the future needs to be solved NOW!”
So yeah the whole “I’m going to fuse man and Pokemon together!” would actually be a really good plot.
