This is honestly the best approach. Just go out, enjoy the combat, and maybe make some afk trade routes or something. It is incredibly fun in small bursts and very bad to take seriously

Given my newfound lack of enthusiasm for Overwatch for reasons, my wife and I need something else to play. Maybe Valorant? Anyone have insights on that? Or, you know, whatever. Some kind of colorful hero shooter.

going from Blizzard to Riot for reasons is like taking your hand out of a boiling pot and sticking it into a nest of fire ants.
apex is fun
even if you’re not a fan of the battle royale genre i’d still recommended it because they’re branching out into new games modes + the cast is colorful and has a way of growing on you
also the next legend is The Most Beautiful Man so there’s that

Riot was one of the first companies that started getting called out for this stuff.
Took a moment for me to remember Riot gaming and what their properties were while trying to figure out why they had not whithered away yet.

yeah, it was really bad. fortunately riot seems to have gotten better per some of the people who were originally being victimized, but their case was the OG big revelation that gaming companies are frat boy scum
if you’re still interested in valorant it’s pretty fun, a lot like CSGO with overwatch abilities, but if you’re understandably put off by riot then i’ve heard that Paladins is basically overwatch with another skin and apex legends is super fun as far as battle royales go and developed by Respawn, who by all accounts seem pretty decent (especially toward their consumers)

There is a game called The Dwarves that is pretty cute. Single player.
Deep Rock Galactic - multiplayer dwarves in space.
Total War Warhammer III - RTS dwarves.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Turn based multiplayer with dwarves as one of the races.
LOTRO, Rift - MMOs with dwarves, obviously.
Dragon Age…uh…Neverwinter…Craft the World?
