Help I got the game yesterday and I’ve already made 3 characters. I can’t decide on a race. 
I’m stuck between Hrothgar, Au Ra, and Elezen.

au ra are my favorite, especially xaela
That was my choice for Au Ra. Xaela Au Ra, Lost Hrothgar, or Wildwood Elezen. I’m going for a Generic Adventurer 
character.
I have 6 alts. 4 catbois, 1 drow mad scientist, 1 voidsent possessed ashkin au ra.

Yes. A positive community has to be managed, curated. I would have thought this was obvious–and it’s working for FFXIV, working exceptionally well. People who want to have fun and be cool with eachother are rewarded, and abusive mutants will move along or be flushed.

On one hand, I’m pretty excited to get back into Alexander and Omega, it’s been a while and I know there’s some cool encounters in there.
On the other hand, it’s a resistance weapon grind. I know that I’ll get an assortment from the mettle grind alone but… The grind.
I have no qualms nor am I embarassed of championing my favorite catgirls and bois. But out of that list, Au Ra are top tier. Their storyline in Stormblood just tickled my inner Mongolian warlord itch.
Go forth and conquer.

I real on the forums about “toxic casualism” when players want to critique others but are reported for it in things like running content or whatever the itch of the week was. And I’m here like–You know you’re scrapping at the bottom of the complaint barrel when that is the most frustrating aspect of a game’s community.

i’ve noticed a lot of wow players are super defensive about ffxiv and will literally just start making stuff up or spouting nonsense in what i can only imagine is some weird attempt to dissuade people from playing it
“it’s just as toxic (even if you don’t see it or interact with it or have slurs hurled at you)” is one thing but i’ve also seen people say ffxiv is extremely anti-casual which uh… lol

you’re right but also some of the real turdgrabbers from this server/game moved to ff14 to try and get a clean slate/hide from people who know their past.

Yeah, it’s always funny when people out themselves as being mad they can’t say the Gamer Words at some poor sprout. Meanwhile, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone actually reported for yelling “Tank! Stance!” when we wipe on the first pull of a dungeon. People mad they can’t speak up 100% mean they can’t yell at someone inappropriately. Unsurprisingly, moderation works!
