The WoW Token is horrible Value at $20

I would like to pre face this with the fact that I am enjoying Cata a lot right now! However this post is mostly a noob trap stopper for anyone returning. The WoW token is worth an average 5k atm. Most BOEs people are crafting/selling that are going for 40k would be hundreds of dollars. Do not give into that predatory nonsense. You can gear through normal dungeons and PVP!

So…don’t buy the token?

Who are you telling this to, and what sort of outcome do you expect?

So don’t buy it then? BoEs are going to be extremely expensive at the start of an expansion token or not

I dont this is a noob trap post. I personally have enjoyed Cata a ton. This is just me telling people not to buy tokens.

I am enjoying the token price.

Going to buy another 12 tokens soon. Give 60k gold and gain a year sub on my 2nd account.

That just means people are buying it…

And that truly says a lot about RMT in Classic.

$20 isn’t worth what it was even 5 years ago? Plus some folks have more money then game time because they work a ton. Let the working folks spend that cash on something they enjoy! Who cares?

They just buy them third party because it’s a way better deal (4x or more cheaper). Doesn’t really say anything about RMT

If anything, the wow token says RMT is fine and encourages more people than normal to buy gold with real money since it’s socially acceptable with the implementation of the wow token

Bill is a little slow sorry we apologize for his slowness.

the token price is based on player demands. if the price is low that means no one is buying them compared to how many are selling them.

It was the reason it was introduced. It doesn’t suggest it’s fine but if they can benefit from the their own services over some 3rd party schmuck they’d be silly to have not too.
oh and you won’t get banned, if in fact RMT is policed or even able to be.

BoE epics are always insanely expensive and way beyond what a normal player farms. A better comparison is to look at the price of gems, enchants, and consumables, which is the mandatory stuff. Those things are much more reasonably priced.

OP has a point though. The cata classic economy is pushing near retail economy quick. The token gold should be way higher.

Gold will crash once all the vactioners from retail leave. This was the same complaint at the start of BC and wrath and prices went down.

The difference is cata has more dailies that u can complete in a day some of them worth 50g to complete. You can literally make a thousand gold just from 25 dailies and another 5 to 6k collecting hard materials and selling them on the AH.

All materials will be in high demand for awhile because you have to use the mats to get additional profession patterns.

The value of the Classic token is likely to stay low unless it becomes redeemable for Bnet balance.

5 years of RMT/GDKP has gold supply through the stratosphere, low-medium population, there’s only so much game time to be bought.

I imagine the price of Classic tokens would skyrocket if they were made redeemable for BobbyBucks.

The price lowers when more people buy them…

People are obviously buying them because the price is dropping.

Buying gold with irl cash is RMT…

I was under the impression classic gold comes from retail purchasing of game time with tokens. Is that correct?

No.

Classic has it’s own Wow Token separate from retail.

Classic’s token cannot be redeemed for bnet balance, only game time. This is the primary reason why the gold exchange rate for a token is so low.

What I meant was (correctly or not) that they buy the retail token for gold, that gold ‘funds’ and influences classic gold availability.
