IT IS UNFAIR FOR THE HORDE, not because of map layout and those things, forget that who cares. The one disadvantage I find that is that how quickly the alliance gears compared to the horde counter part. Honor gained is massive and most alliance players are getting honor capped easily hence buying Brutal Gladiator gear which really takes a huge advantage over us on the Horde which we don’t get the same amount. I have pvp vs Alliance players at level 78-79 who all are full Brutal Gladiator Gear.
5 people trolling alliance galv killers…can mean 1 less bunker.
5 people trolling ibt/tp…1 less bunker.
2 lost bunkers, 10 horde now dead since teams I am on have wiped both these troll parties.
see I have lost to horde. 4 towers losses are still…1 to 1.2K ish honor in CTA weekend. 800 to 900 ish non CTA.
Why alliance rushes and half the time won’t backcap even SHB. that is a few more peeps to keep IBT/TP for points.
SHB backcap could help timer wars. Or have no effect to get a win. 50/50 odds. IBT and TP burned is 100% points.
Or…horde does kill these people. some like me go okay…I am now in camp. YOu aren’t getting N and S bunker if I can do something about it. If out of pure spite lol. You shall not pass!
Not all on alliance fear the turtle. I am here, something is dying. several times. hopefully not me as much lol.
LIke one match saturday horde almost killed van. someone killed a whole bunch of us south. we all went to to camp from cave, we wrecked that vann killing party. and then took the gy. then drove to win after.
so the moral to that story is when you are about to pull vann don’t send 10+ alliance to the north at the same time. We have nothing else to do besides wreck that vann pull.
I got a late start on Classic, so I didn’t encounter whatever golden age for the horde this was. I just know it seems to be about a 1:10 win ratio for horde. You can try and spin whatever you want about it, but AV is free points for alliance and a slow grind fest for horde.
I’ve seen old classic in KAV runs in the past. that has the layout some are talking about.
alliance with several shortcuts could not win it unless horde was was jsut really really really bad. Sheeping (or other longer CC) tower bosses then ghosting the cap to have every person possible in the south. Loss…
horde even had the time to kill bunker bosses really. and still win.
I’ve been doing pretty much nothing but AV this entire weekend, all day. I’m at about 14 straight losses in a row right now. Had to laugh at last one. We got Van down to 4% and people were like, “Is this real?” but of course, no. I think it was the closest to a horde win I’d seen all day.
To be fair this ain’t a one man issue. One can’t control 39 other people lol.
I’d think it help horde if they put in capping timer add ons. Its helped me get better.
I see the timer. there is no way in hell I am making it before burn. I…go where I will be more useful. Bunker is jsut written off.
its when I see the 5 horde coming from snowfall with 10 seconds left I go yeah…these dudes ain’t got a timer add on.
then you really troll them. I cc waht I can, jump off tower and ride off to TP if needed or drek. MY dps could be needed to beat a boss timer race. which an addon can also show.
10 seconds matter in av. so thrill kills can be skipped over. Ye old fight on flags rule applies often. for the greater good of the team and all that.
We ended up making a premade discord and que syncing to run a premade.
You would que sync with 100 people and then join the channel of the AV game you got into and kind of premade it.
The cave rez was too much for alliance to take and hold ibgy, we could never get south in a pug.
Horde could just soft cap shgy then run south to retake ibgy and nothing alliance could do because when horde died down there they would rez at their cave up to 20 at a time and the cave is around 25 seconds from IBGY.
Meanwhile alliance defending the ibgy soft cap now rez next to their cave 2 minutes away, so eventually there would be no alliance defending ibgy since they rez much close and in bigger numbers than alliance can reinforce it.
That means eventually the alliance would be trapped north which means they lost since you can’t win off resources in classic.
Once tbc hit the changes took place that made it so the horde cave was pushed back so it was equal distance and the cave graveyards for both factions were now only used if NO other graveyard was controlled.
Which were 2 MASSIVE buffs to alliance as we can now take and hold ibgy since horde no longer rezes right next to it they would go to FWGY and only 10 at a time, cave graveyards are special they rez up to 20 at a time.
It also meant the fights started more south since the cave was pushed back.
Those 2 changes happend and horde started to lose a lot, funny how they were just really really good in classic AV, and they sure rubbed it in.
The map layout allows alliance to make it to our base first, and our towers are easier to cap.
But I will say AV is balanced despite of that for a simple reason: Alliance only has the ZERG advantage. Horde loses all the time because they refuse to defend. I’m always screaming at my team to actually defend and when I get a sensible group that listens we win. The problem is people who cry at the very thought of the game being 10 minutes longer, when we would actually win and get more honor. This fear of a vanilla style 2 hour turtle is hilariously overblown and extremely rare even on defense games.
you don’t know our fine friends on noob hill well it seems. I’ve had the pleasure of walking up to frost wolf to kill the rogue as they jumped from a tower they jsut flipped under the noses of 20+ noob hill folk. Rogue got a final second flip in as we came from tp and ibt.
Idjuts let them flip and couldn’t be bothered even to revenge kill them on the tower.
I left that match with more respect for the horde rogue tbh. they did good.
I played Horde for 14 years, You can beat Alliance if you back cap and defend while you have a team pushing forward using the backside of the Alliance keep to sneak in.
If you rush Alliance and get funneled on bridge you will most likely lose.
All the “If only people would do this…” posts, y’all are describing stuff I see horde do and still lose. Not to mention, a lot of people that play one side, play the other too. The same players win playing one faction with the same tactics, and lose playing the other. The only thing different is the map.
