Some weeks I just want to do random bgs. But I have to find somebody, fall into rated and win some arena to unlock the upgrades that I already unlocked. We should go back to the one-and-done unlock and make that account wide. Or even better? Get rid of the upgrades entirely and let all conquest gear be ilvl 259 in pvp.
This is not a good idea. PvP ladders would be dead again because everyone would be sitting at their rating and not actually queing and the only people left would be boosters which is exactly what happened last season.
Yeah if you want the gear you have to play the game. Considering it’s only 1 win a week I think that’s pretty generous.
Why would everyone be sitting at their rating? I mean one-and-done, so even if you go down, the upgrades are still unlocked for you. No risk of losing upgrades you’ve unlocked.
And most people were playing, they just locked in their RBG rating btw. The ladder is not dead because of people sitting on rating, the ladder is dead because of all these dumb pvp development choices.
It was never one and done. If you dropped below the rating threshold you could not longer upgrade your gear to that tier so people with get to whatever rating they needed 1400, 1600, etc and then never que rated again because upgrading gear cost honor not conquest.
That also just promotes boosting even harder.
Upgrading conquest gear with honor instead of conquest is another dumb development choice for another topic. And I didn’t know that the upgrades you unlocked went down when your rating goes down but that’s even dumber.
The solution for boosting is so simple. Whatever the highest character has unlocked that season, don’t let them ever fight people that are 400 points below that.
Your gear didn’t go down. But let’s say you were 1800 and unlocked the option to upgrade gear to 220. If you dropped to 1799 you would no longer be able to upgrade to 220 but if you already had 220 gear it would stay that way.
To be fair upgrading gear costs a lot of honor and if that was translated into conquest instead of honor it would be an absurd grind.
That is correct that is what I meant. For the second part, it’s an insane honor grind, the fact that it takes so much to pay for upgrades you worked to unlock is dumb decision number four, and the fact that you need honor instead of conquest to upgrade conquest gear is dumb decision number five. Btw dumb decision number 6 was capping conquest. Dumb decision number 7 was capping conquest at such a low amount per week, so low that people who didn’t get a weapon in the vault might have been out of luck for weeks.
If you can’t be asked to win one game a week you don’t need the upgrades.
Everyone needs the upgrades to face 248 ilvl pvers having a stroll in casual battlegrounds. And ofc bored 259 ilvl pvpers who can’t find anyone to sell carries to because they all quit.
except as Alliance you can sit for hours trying to get a rated team together, during other expansions we didn’t need to play rated to get top conquest gear
It’s really not. Especially if you’re actually playing the game and grinding arena the honor comes pretty quickly. For the average player trying to climb the ladder you’re going to be hitting the tiers slowly anyway. The only people that have an actual massive grind are glad players that have the ability to upgrade their gear from level 1-max in the first week or two lol.
Well what do you mean? You said you don’t like that it’s a long grind but you also want upgrades to cost conquest which would automatically make it a longer grind.
Sure but it’s uncapped now. Also I imagine it’s a way to stop top tier players from grinding a full max level conquest set a week into the patch and being unstoppable.
It sounds like you just want a full set of high ilvl pvp gear without having to do much work for it.
False. Arena wins get you 110ish honor each. For each one, you spend about a minute in queue, a minute before the match, and (unless you get one shot and get 20 honor) a few minutes to win. Comp stomp is better honor (350 in 5 minutes total) and it’s much more relaxing.
It doesn’t have to be 1-1. Obviously the upgrades would cost less conquest than they do honor.
If people want to play, let them. This is why I think they should just do one conquest set or get rid of the rating requirements.
You go ahead and face 259 ilvl premades in random bgs all day and tell me that it should take days /played of grinding and rated arena to get gear that’s 10% worse than theirs. On every character you want to use for pvp.
That’s still fast lol… yeah if you compared any other source of honor to Comp Stomp it’s going to seem bad except Comp Stomp isn’t even pvp, you’re literally facing bots. Sorry but if you want pvp rewards you’re going to have to actually pvp as much as it seems like you don’t want too.
So then what’s the difference? lmao
Well you’re playing random BG’s that have no matchmaking so I don’t know what you expect. If you want to do pvp with some type of matchmaking then do rated and you have a much better shot at playing people around your gear/skill level.
People like you are the reason casual pvp is dead, congratulations.
And obviously the idea is that arena being LESS than comp stomp is ridiculous. Rated arena is worse for honor than something that is NOT pvp. And you can’t even see the problem. I’m done talking to you.
Hey thanks!
I imagine that this is usually how most of your conversations end when you don’t get your way.
Yeah the issue is comp stomp gives way too much honor not that arena gives too little lol.
Exactly this, finding somebody to queue when your friends are offline and you’re farming upgrades is a challenge of its own.
The season been out since July and y’all still crying about gear. You’ve played 37 games this season I don’t think it’s too hard to win 1 1600 game a week for ya I think you just wanted to cry to collect internet points from the other people that don’t play the game either
Question.
If you reach a certain rating, upgrade your gear, do you get to keep that gear for the entire season ?
Like the players that reached a high rating in the first month of the season, do they have to do anything else or just enter randoms and lol at other players ?
Well breaking news I wanted to play 0 rated sucks and is not fun for me
Yes you do
Yes they can, this mainly impacts players with jobs and lives who can’t or won’t honor grind for 20 hours a week
Breaking news then you can’t get rated gear
