The War Within: Warbands Preview

The first four tabs are fine. They just need to lower the final tab while also requiring an achievement to level all classes to the level cap.

Feedback and suggestions for the character select screen.

Allow us to collect and specify emotes that we can set our characters to perform when we click on them. Sitting, kneeling, sleeping, cheering, flexing, waving, channeling a spell, etc.

It would also be nice to be able to move them around. Like having two stand closer together, or have one off in the distance, one pacing and thinking, or all sitting around the campfire.

You mentioned scenes. Scene suggestions: Various inns (human, forsaken, orcs, dwarves, etc), various classic zones (Elwynn Forest, The Barrens, Duskwood, Silithus, etc), a collectable flight master that can be added to the scene, thematic buildings, tents, etc.

Ability to change transmog directly from the character select screen.

And finally, it would be cool to have access to the cooking profession from character select screen.

Thanks for reading! Canā€™t wait for Warbands!

I was looking forward to collecting old tier for my warband. Would there be a way to make the tier tokens WuE?

You know what would be baller? If when you selected a character from your Warband, they stepped forward and did an animation like the characters in Diablo 2 did. Maybe something based on their class, or something you can choose for them.

Iā€™m hope it will be selective information, I donā€™t do Mythic or much PVP. Would be silly that Iā€™d have to see those tabs. Seeing the professions and gold would be fine for me, but maybe not others.

Because its language and also not a major faction reputation.

gotta say Warbands may be my most excited feature of TWW.

Been asking for account wide stuff (reps/Achieves) for sooo long. Glad to see were finally getting them. They even kinda followed SWTORā€™s model which was by far the best up till this point.

Warbands seem great!

This is a cool idea.

I do think they need to think through how it will work with a character limit account.

Even on 1 server, a fairly average player is likely to have up to 13 toons (1 per class), so you can only favorite/display 4 around a campfire? Honestly seems needlessly limiting. Even D4 displays 5 classes which take up more of the screen.

They also need to figure out a way to change the font/size on the character select. I should be able to see 14-15 characters at once (~ +2 buffer for future classes) without scrolling. Maybe even moving class and level to same line as name might do the trick - or change class typed out to spec icon.

This is purely personal preference but I would love it if the characters were doing stuff before I selected them. Just picture it: one Character is jogging in the background, while another is fixing a tent, and someone is cooking something on the campfire.

Just guessing from this current image of Warbands and the last one we saw, I might not be too far off, maybe not exact but the last image they posted had three of the four ā€˜posingā€™ someone was sitting on a chair, another on top of a barrel and a big orc kneeling next to the campfire. Thatā€™s kind of where Iā€™m gonna pin my expectations on.

There is one limitation that is worth noting. Like pet battles, players who play multiple characters simultaneously on multiple World of Warcraft accounts will find that only the character that logs into the realm first will have access to the Warband Bank

I have 2 licenses under 1 bnet.
if I login to garce first, he will be the only character on both of my licenses that can access the warbrands bank?

alsoā€¦

Am I reading this correctly when I assume only 1 character gets access to the Warbrands bank and all my other toons on both licenses only get indirect access to the regents bank?

You always have to play corrupt-a-wishā€¦ always.

Finally, itā€™s worth mentioning that we would like to update the UI and functionality of the character-level bank to also use tabs like the Warband bank. While this wonā€™t be done at the launch of The War Within , we are planning for it to come soon after. When this change occurs, bags will no longer be needed in the character bank. Itā€™s intended that this change wonā€™t alter the number of slots currently available in your bank. It will just shift those slots from bags to tabs.

tailors, you are losing one of your big gold makers.

bags will be replaced with tabs

it says character bank, not character inventory.
So youā€™ll still get to sell bags, just not for character banks

I think the WuE gear will be a huge improvement for altoholics. But it would be so cool if I can still give gear that is no longer relevant for my main to an alt as a hand-me-down.

I completely agree that making gear freely tradeable would only encourage mailing it back and forth for each character you want to play and that would get really annoying fast. I donā€™t want that.

My proposal would be to consider giving the ability to make soulbound gear into WuE gear but with a longer cooldown (like a week maybe) so the decision is more of a commitment. Could even make it limited number of conversions if you are concerned that someone would gear an alt to current ivl with only playing their main.
But this would still allow some hand-me-down gameplay like Diablo.

My 2c anyway.

How will obtainig druid forms work with this new system?

If any class can get any appearance for the warband, does that logic also extend to things like the runebear mark?

I want this so much! On my warlock Iā€™m very attached to my floating head and while in some cases it is better to have an off-hand, that isnā€™t always available. However if I was allowed to transmog the slot I could have my dear Thalā€™kiel by my side at all times.

Iā€™d also like a toggle to hide item, switch between both shoulders or single shoulder selection when Iā€™m trying to make an outfit outside of a Transmog vender.

Iā€™m certain that falls under the class-specific token, only druids are gonna be able to pick up and use druid appearance tokens.

If we could get a scene like idk a vulpera caravan instead of normal camp thatā€™d be great Blizz. Letting us use the wagons instead of tents for example so my vulpera can all hang out together in an appropriate scene

i thought there were meant to be generic placeholder toons in there until you replace them with your own?

They mentioned that additional scenes will be unlocked. So, these scenes will be fun appearance unlocks / grinds!

The Dragonflight one I understand being character locked, my fingers however are crossed that the vanilla one will be account bound, that one was a pain compared to the two hours I spent in DF to get exalted.
