Why not? All the complains about m+ center around “it’s too hard for me.” FOR ME.
(Which is completely subjective.)

Youre right.
TWW 10 = DF 18. I was just throwing numbers out for an example
Its not a horrible take. Its reality. The path of least resistence is a law of nature which mankind abides by
Unless youre suggesting Blizzard find a way to rewire human psychology?
No, they’ve catered to it. Easier, approachable content means players will, you know, approach it.
It shouldn’t be used as a reason to disincentivize casual players from doing harder content. If raiders feel obligated to do so, that’s a personal decision.
Because of the reasons I mention after the part you quoted.
While it could work in some games to just not have power progression at all and focus entirely on prestige rewards, this game probably needs a balance between the two.
You’re trying to argue that moving the balance a little bit is the same as moving it all the way to the other side and it simply isn’t true.
Well they must have seen something they didn’t like in the numbers, because it looks like their intent is to have an easier s2 than s1. I am going to be honest I don’t remember df s2 that well. I loved s3 and regret not pushing higher.
At the moment Blizzard continuously makes stuff easier, then reverts the next expansion. Probably cause people want to feel like they’re capable of higher numbers when they haven’t improved.
So now what happens when the average keys ran on a daily scale, mimics or is close to that of DF S3?
Then we can leave it as it is right?
The problem is M+ was the law of the land from its inception until S4 of DF and it wasn’t because people loved it so much, it was because it was both the easiest and fastest way to get end game gear/
I won’t be complaining if we end up there, but ultimately Blizzard decides if they are happy with the numbers.
I expect s3 to be easier than s2 to give people the illusory feeling of progress.
What was so wrong with this?
Particularly when that was the most successful season of M+ in history
I didn’t do S4 DF. I did get KSH S1, S2 & S3 in DF though. I got most of my stuff through heroic raiding. I ended up getting KSH those seasons because it was fun.
Nor should making things childs play be used to incentivize people into doing content. Yet they do
It’s not child’s play though. There’s still some challenge for a lot of the player base even with these changes. Not everything need to be for the “get good” crowd.
Nothing is wrong with it.
Im saying the keys run on a daily average is close to that of DF S3.
Meaning if it was so popular and this season is close to it, it must mean its popular as well and changes arent needed
You should get your money back from Hooled on Phonics
Having more participation in arbitrarily labeled content doesn’t mean more participation in the game as a whole.
There’s nothing wrong or right with it.
This is, again, objectively wrong. Participation is in the gutter. That’s what’s prompted these changes. What world are you living in?
I think Blizzard is finally starting to realize their gating top rewards to only the top 5-10% isn’t financially rewarding to them. The other 90% pay for the game and sub time, too.
Reality is, the top 5% mean nothing to the most important thing to Microsoft, the almighty dollar. If the top 5-10% quit because the game was “too easy”, they wouldn’t be missed for a minute.
Constantly restricting gear and rewards to a small percentage of players is plain silly. On the business side of things, you want more engagement. This stops many players ‘progression’, as those not in the top percentile simply get bored. This being those in the Top 50-85%.
You have 4 main tiers - Veteran, Champion, Hero, and Mythic. Perhaps making the spread a little more accessible and even amongst the levels withing the talent pool would drive better engagement. Yes, the top 5-10% are going cry and throw hissy fits about the inferior players beneath them getting the same gear they do, as they always do, but… they only generate 5-10% of the revenue. Who cares?
These changes are a great step and hoping this isn’t just a periodic lightbulb moment.
