The Voices Within, new collection of short stories announced

Gazlowe being mentioned here is strange… The other three characters mentioned are on the cover of the expansion and are major players. Is this some sort of indication that Gazlowe is going to be a major part of the expansion as well? If so, why is he not in the cover art, and why didn’t we get a preview of his appearance like we did with Thrall, Anduin, and Alleria?

I’m also willing to bet that the city he inspires and I guess goes on to lead is none other than Undermine. There was a tiny mention of Undermine in Dragonflight, and it fits the theme of TWW.

Frankly, if I were a fan of a Tinker class, I’d be very happy right now.

Also, another Exploring Azeroth got announced today, this one covering the Broken Isles, Zandalar, Kul Tiras, and the Dragon Isles. Narrators are Theron and Thalyssra as they sail for a perfect honeymoon spot.

Likelihood of controversy seems much lower with this one. Maybe. I don’t envy the one who has to reflect on why the night elves have a new home; but also, a pair of highborne elves are going to be fish delightfully out of water pretty much everywhere they visit, save for Suramar. High potential for amusing interactions.

I hope Gazlowe doesn’t take over the entire Goblin nation. That would just serve to further homogenize them, and make goblins, as a nation, feel much smaller (no pun intended).

The Bilgewater have probably done alright supplying expeditions and adventurers in the Dragon Isles, especially if we presume that means Alliance too. If there has been years of truce between SL and DF, then it’s possible the goblin economy collapsed because it was reliant on selling an arms race of weapons to a world of people trying to kill each other.

No more interest in piling high the corpses of the other faction == no more money for neutrals trying to profit off the factions killing each other. Time is money, plz make atrocity? Plz? Just a small war crime? No? Sad, hungry goblins.

Which might mean the remaining neutral faction goes officially Horde and they all unify around something. Or it could just be a continuation of the usual comic relief and stereotype filler that goblins get as “co-stars” to the more widely played races. But let me just dream.

No kael’thas or sylvanas short story? Not buying it, how can they forgot the most important characters I’ll never know.

I hope that at least they will cover some of the pandaren story, need to know how my farm is going back in valley of the four winds.
These are more pressing matters than anduin and some mystical voice from below.

It’s because these short stories are a setup for the next expansion. Sylvanas and Kael aren’t relevant to TWW

I am slightly annoyed they are basically condensing Legion/BfA/DF into just one book but I guess I sort of understand. The three of them make up, what 15 zones in total? Which is about the number of zones in EK/Kalimdor.

I know, I was joking but…
Kael’thas is always relevant for every expansion you just need to focus!

lol that’s true and the Banshee Queen must save us every expac!

I do miss the farm in pandaria though. I should take my druid through ally side Pandaria again sometime :dracthyr_crylaugh:

I’m hoping there’s a nod to Garrosh via Thrall and Durak. In an in-game cutscene, that would be incredible. I think the whole drama with Garrosh, which Thrall was only able to clear up through a conversation with his mother in Shadowlands, is too little and not fair. It deserves more respect and was resolved far too quickly.

See? Priorities! We should riot and let us have information in the situation at our farm, the war within can wait! Azeroth just need a psychologist and alot of therapy she will be over that sword in no time!

Side note, I am now curious how Thalyssra/Lor’themar are getting permission to just freely explore Kul Tiras. Are the Alliance just letting the Horde go about as they please in Alliance lands?

It’s a wonderful new world where partisans are taking a backseat it seems. Also the idea of those two exploring together is adorable to me

Now this, I will be buying.

Considering that Alliance leaders were in attendance at Thalyssra and Lor’themar’s wedding, they’re probably being welcomed with open arms and flower bouquets all over the world, as they should be. :rose:

Then they can replace one of the non-highlighted Alliance-side stories with one about the Prince of Dwarves. Assuming he isn’t actually the focus in one of the non-highlighted stories already, that is.

I was responding to a post that explicitly said we should have a story about Dagran instead of a story about Gazlowe.

The leaders can give permission for them to enter their lands. Like in Exploring the Eastern Kingdom, Theron gives Shaw permission to come to Silvermoon. In Exploring Kalimdor, Velen gave permission to Rexxar to visit the isles.

Hard to say actually. Shaw and his boyfriend got written permission to visit the Horde’s lands unaccosted, but I’m pretty sure Zekhan and Rexxar had to roll the dice with the night elves (no bueno) and draenei (halfway civil). Heads of state might get preferential treatment, though.

Aha, I’d forgotten this.

Yeah good point. I’d prefer Undermine be ruled by multiple trade princes than just by Gazlowe.

My thought is the city alluded to is most likely Bilgewater harbor as its the biggest and only goblin city part of the horde.

Gadgetzan is Steamwheedle and Gazlowe abandoned that cartel to join and lead the Bildgewater, so that can’t be it. It could be about Ratchet but calling ratchet a city is a stretch and while Gazlowe did lead the town, the town is owned and run by the Steamwheelde, which he isnt part of anymore. So I’d say its the second most likely place since its the town mostly associated with Gazlowe.

Undermine makes no sense though since he’s just one of many trade princes and hardly caries any weight over there

Undermine matches the theme of the expansion (underground) and it’s a place we haven’t been to before.
