The Unofficial High Elf Discussion Megathread

Read the entire post instead of focusing on a singular aspect to strawman.

You are repeating robotic arguments that have been debunked multiple times over.

But it is what you said

To call Blood Elves “green/golden-eyed High Elves” or Void Elves “purple High Elves” requires you to dismiss everything about High Elves and focus solely on their model/appearance.

Funny I just looked at the character creation and so far only blood elves are playable. It’s not shown anywhere that we can play high elves.
In fact, it says we can play a BLOOD elf, not a high elf. NEXT!

Elisande also didn’t compare blood elves to high elves anywhere, not sure why you made that up.

Were 17k posts in, couldn’t you come up something original?

Why are YOU against people playing the already-alliance “not-blood elf” high elves brojerky? And how would said people playing the race they like affect you?

Read the entire thread, didnt see anything debunked, just ignored, dismissed, steawmanned, or broken away from as tangents.

Just because you say “I am right” does not make you right.

@ Lavinya: Not really. You and everyone else wants a seperate high elf race. I disagree with this notion simply because of the following.

  1. They are already playable. Horde players gained them as “blood” elves. The name was explained away in lore. So as mich as you and everyone else want to say otherwise, they are high elves. Just with green eyes.

  2. They provided void elves who are high elves but purple.

So the demand you guys have to have high elves playable is unnecessary. They have been made playable, they just dont have the colors or title you want.

I dont agree with this loud screaming about them being different from high elves such that an entirely new race needs to be made to satisfy everyone.

@dorp: Find anywhere in the game that states the blood elves and high elves are entirely different races.

Furthermore, elisane states it. " you are unworthy of the name high elf"

I’d like to hear what makes them so different from Night Elves and Darkspear Trolls

And while at that, what makes High and Blood Elves the same.

ELFS SUCK HUMANS RULE (yep)

We disagree with you, and no one is screaming we are simply here to show our support for an allied race we want.

Can we not do that?

Yep Elisande states that about the high elves, not the blood elves.

Also you sound really bitter, like we get it you don’t want high elves, playing the victim and providing incorrect lore won’t make you more right.

Like I said, high elves aren’t playable. This isn’t about being right or wrong, high elves literally are not playable.

Playable horde races as of now: orc, undead, tauren, troll, goblin, BLOOD elf, nightborne, maghar, HM tauren and zandalari.

Zero high elves there, are we playing the same game?

No one is screaming nor DEMANDING (dramatic music) anything. It’s called suggesting a race, if they’re playable in the future, great! If not, oh well.

Take a chill pill, calm, down.

Sure.

The nightborne race stems from the suramarian night elves that lived thousands of years ago during the first invasion of the burning legion. Similar to how night elves came from trolls. Nightborne came from night elves who were changed by the night well. It is part of why they are distinctly different in appearance from the night elves.

“They use a night elf model!”.

They do, which has been edited and uses different textures. They were rushed to be made playable. If you look at the npcs, they are made distinctly different from night elves and blizzard admitted how they were rushed. Hence why people want a pass. This, however, is a limitation of in game representation and isnt due to them being jight elves.

Zandalari trolls are also different from standard trolls and are an entirely different subspecies. Unlike blood elves, they are not a name change and are among the first trolls to exist.

@dorp: my error on the elisande thing, however, it doesnt change the fact that high elves are blood elves.

The name change occurred based on kaelthas honoring the dead after most of that group of high elves were slaughtered.
Hence, why he states they are now blood elves starting that day.

By your logic, if the vrykul race or murloc race named themselves humans to honor their human friends, they should now be called humans.

So, they look slightly different? Is that the key to it? Because “they came from Suramarian Night Elves” means nothing

And what about them is different from the Darkspear? You just said “they’re different”, not what makes them different

Do not act like a troll dude, you arent playing the right race for it.

Zandalari may be new but but

THEY ARE STILL TROLLS!!! AND TROLLS ARE UGLY COMPARED TO US AWESOME BLOOD ELFS INFACT ALL RACES ON AZEROTH SHOULD BOW DOWN BEFORE US AND WORSHIP US. (Yep)

Kul Tiran humans are literally just XXL humans that had no reason to be different until BFA came out. Every other instance of Kul Tirans had them portrayed as regular, Stormwind-size humans. Same as Lordaeron humans, same as Arathi humans, same as (non-cursed) Gilnean humans, etc etc etc.

So if we’re being totally honest here, that argument about distinctiveness doesn’t hold water because Blizzard can make them distinct with little to no justification.

I don’t expect you to read 18000 posts-- that’d be totally insane-- but in the past there’s been a multitude of mock-ups and concepts to make High Elves stand out from Blood Elves aside from favoring blue and silver rather than red and gold. They managed to make them stand out while still standing within the realm of the believable.
Some gave them more toned, muscular builds to reflect that most of the High Elves were Farstriders. Others gave them the classic Ranger tattoos that Alleria has, as a homage to WC2. Some had “wilder” hairstyles with leaves or feathers strung into them, etc.

They didn’t just change their name. They changed their culture, and they went on to have a whole different history from those who kept the High Elf name

Void elfs are not True High elfs (We Blood elfs are cloeset thing to high elfs you will find ) you guys are well how do i phrase this technically evil all of you… A old god controls you all and can take over at a moments notice.

Sooo Alliance is screwed lol once you all turn on them Lore wise or get forced under old gods Control.

That’s not by my logic at all lol.

My logic states that vrykul are vrykul, humans are humans, murlocs are murlocs, blood elves are blood elves, high elves are high elves.

I don’t prance around calling races the wrong names.
So that doesn’t change the fact that blood elves are blood elves and high elves are high elves. You repeating yourself won’t change that.

High elves are not playable. Give me in game proof that you can play a high elf and I will believe. Show me a screen shot of someone playing a lvl 120 high elf.

Dorp I am afraid you misheard we Blood Elfs are High Elfs etc… we just changed our culture a bit but we are still the same for most part etc… other then certain addictions to a degree etc…

But we are still High Elfs now Void Elfs on the other hand are far removed from the High Elf species they are Controlled by an old god and basically stopped being Elfs.
