I Agree. Every races has a concept going on for them or some controversial issue that leads to their story and why they become playable.

Joining them with the dying dragon race would be a good way to bring them to the picture. I mean who does not want to look as cool as Nozdormu humanoid form?

However, this would lead to becoming something else entirely… meaning, that High Elf request will continue forever… unless they add a High Elf with Half-elves customization, this will open an opportunity for Half-Ogres Race like Rexxar for the Horde as both seem to be better introduce like that (IMO)

Plus players would love this Half-breeds and would not see an issue with adding them…thought they would need a lot of Development and customization love as some would like to look like full High Elves and Ogres!
I personalty would play both! Specially the Half-Ogre…as he/she would look soo strong, big and AWESOME in PLATE armor!

I really like this idea, because I feel it fits with the current design of differentiation by having a really simple way of explaining it. “They are High Elves cut from the Sunwell” is an easy slogan.

I kinda like the idea of the Blood Elves cutting the High Elves from the Sunwell to force their hand in an escalation scenario, in a “don’t make me do this” kind of way. I like it because it would bring back the ruthlessness of the Blood Elves while also tinting it with their righteousness, justifying that the HE’s aren’t worthy of the Sunwell no more.

But that’s me mostly being okay with all races doing more ethically questionable things overall.

As for your idea, I find it very plausible; Is it possible for the fruit of the Arcandor to do this? Potentially, it could, and while it would be weird to ask help of the Nightborne, given Vereesa’s assistance during the Rebellion, I think that could be a proper parting gift.

I like that because it would give the NB a bit of positive closure towards the alliance, and could create a bit of an awkward situation between NB and BE’s and serve to explore Lor’themar and Thalyssra’s relationship. (I don’t ship much in WoW, but those two? Yes please oh la la sun and moon for the aesthetic alone but it’s actually so good how they parallel each other)

I try and look at it like Blizzard cannot be that hard headed. Faction exclusivity makes less and less sense with every expansion. They have already blurred so many lines. To not give the Alliance High Elves, would be a mistake. My thought are they need to set aside their pride, admit they were wrong, and do the right thing for the Alliance for a change.

I have never accused Blizzard of being sensible. If they even consider not making HE playable a mistake, it’s clearly one they are happy to live with for now.

I hope they change their mind someday, but I am not optimistic about it.

Oh man, I love to see those 2 cultures united in a rebuilt new Silvermoon City in a sun and moon for the aesthetic alone, with both of them as a couple…even having armor with both aesthetic combine would be so beautiful!!

Not even mentioning how good it be for the health of the elves citizens to be bath by the Graces of Sun Well and nature with the Arcandor!
Maybe this union will open Shamans and Druids to both races… oooo

That’s a lot harder to see; the Arcandor, while created by the combination of arcane and druidic magics, was created by a Nigth Elf. The Arcandor, while a symbol of their liberation, is not a example of their culture, as it was mostly created thanks to druidic knowledge the Nightborne don’t possess.

And considering that eating of the fruit of the Arcandor cut them from the Nightwell, it might cut Blood Elves from the Sunwell.

It’s hard to see the Arcandor as a origin for NB druidism, it already served it’s purpose, and NB already had their botanists before hand, so if they didn’t get druids then, I doubt they would get now.

And shamans have nothing to do with any of this lol.

The Silver Covenant, Allerian Stronghold and the Eastern Kingdom High Elf lodges are not part of the Horde, so it don’t make sense to go to the Horde and pretend to be playing a race that isn’t part of the Horde, especially when you have quests to kill them.
So i support High Elves Allied Race for the Alliance!

Sure, but we do not want blood elves, so you can keep your exclusivity.

To me, void elves harmed the blood elves’ exclusivity way more. They are just anti-blood elves.

A friend of mine is still convinced they plan to release the next ARs around the same time Warcraft 3 Reforged releases as they would capitalize on the game assets to promote both games at once.

Personally I can see High Elves, Wildhammer, Forest Trolls, and Undead Elves having been part of that decision. She thinks the Undead faction might be the stars.

I mean, for some the weight of choice goes beyond arbitrary restricted aesthetics and instead is based on ideology and politics and loyalties. That you find more value putting aesthetics over the rest speaks of your priorities.

And even by your notion of exclusivity being part of choice, the Horde and Alliance dichotomy only offer an illusion of choice if you are forced to play one side if you want to look a certain way. You are not “choosing” if you feel forced to pick a side.

Blizzard would have used it to boost preorder already.

LOL your right I forgot about the lore behind the Shamans… I think it was The Runemaster who use similar powers… Um, I think Rommath is suspected to be one. Sorry.
