The word and decision of the king is everything. Almost all the high elves accepted his decree, only a few stayed in Dalaran. But as always discussed, there are too few to create another faction. So everything that is said about this is just a fanfiction.
And that is demonstrated within the game with the small amount that there is in the alliance. All the high elves are in the horde, in quel’thalas, in their home.
Sure looks like there’s High Elf troops there, if they left the Alliance then why do they have troops there? Why are they still providing troops now if they left the Alliance as you say?
I know you hate the Alliance, but that’s why you have your Blood Elf to enjoy. Blood Elves left the Alliance, but the High Elves that remained loyal to the Alliance against Anasterian’s wishes are still here and are still being used prominently in the setting.
Factually incorrect, there has never been an “Old Alliance” there has always been the Grand Alliance since the Second War.
The Alliance has never changed, people have come and gone and come back again after falling out and disagreements and mending fences once again, but the Alliance has always remained steadfast throughout all this.
And the High Elves that currently exist today have always been part of that Alliance.
Arthas destroyed the old alliance. Today is another alliance, different from before with its original races.
It is the same as the horde, the horde of now is not the same as before.
Presumably destroyed, but not really. Stormwind still stood, as did Ironforge. Both were still firmly in the Alliance but not explored due to the nature of WC3’s storytelling. Jaina thought the Alliance had been destroyed because she sailed to another continent, until Stormwind contacted her. Most of the northern kingdoms were ravaged by Arthas but he pulled out before he could fully destroy the Alliance completely and Stormwind and Ironforge both helped maintained its standing.
Furthermore, even in WC3 the Alliance was still known as the Grand Alliance and that is the current playable Alliance now. There has never truly been an “old Alliance” like there has been an “Old Horde”, that has always just been a fanon argument Blood Elf players make to say they were never actually Alliance members at all.
I fail to see how the level of an alternate character or account has any relevancy to the statement i made or tkme i spend posting.
Based on the lore, and physiology, high elves and blood elves are one and the same.
Blood elves are called such specifically to honor those whom Arthas annihilated.
Just as kultirans are essentially just human and maghar orcs are still orcs.
It’s you that’s not understanding me as you seem to just bypass my response to you completely in favor of repeating an argument you wish to believe despite the evidence I’ve shown you.
I’ll just tell you to re-read what I posted and what you quoted as you’re not presenting anymore new arguments here.
More fanon, nice.
Just FYI, Stormwind did send forces to help in Lordaeron but Arthas wiped out those forces. Stormwind as a kingdom was still not reached by Arthas though and that’s what helped the Alliance maintain and rebuild.
The fact of the matter is that High Elves have superior lore, decades of setup rather than a mere patch and have are far more superior to Void Elves in terms of establishment.
This doesn’t mean Void Elves aren’t worthy as a race or concept, but they have been severely mishandled. People taking issue with this fact are perfectly valid in their feelings.
There would still be a call to bring them closer to the High Elf fantasy, namely giving them a couple more classes as well as a second heritage set, effectively converting the playable Void Elves to a coalition made up of both High Elves and Void Elves, but if that’s what it takes to flesh out Void Elves and to finally be able to play out the High Elf fantasy then so be it, I suppose. Nothing short of something akin to the scenario I just gave would likely quell requests for High Elves to a significant degree.
And Void Elves should have lighter hair and skin tones regardless, even if they’re not 100% the same as High Elves.
The population argument is decimated after you compare High Elves with Void Elves. Seeing as people love quoting Ion, he labels Void Elves as a “crack elite squad”. High Elves particularly the Silver Covanent are labelled as a “Military Faction of High Elves”. A military faction, is larger than a “squad”. So if a “squad” can be playable, a Military Faction can too (Mind you they’d have even more numbers if you reunite the Alliance alligned High Elves - High Vale, Dalaran, Allerian etc).
When you come with a tired old half-argument usually used by trolls in a new character, to me you are just one of the few people that come here regularly but hiding under a new face.
Again:
Aren’t mag’har just orcs with a different name and different skin colors? They aren’t a separate race.
Aren’t lightforged draenei just draenei with an adjective added to their name and different eye colors? They aren’t a separate race.
Aren’t void elves just blood elves with a different name and different skin color? They aren’t a separate race.
Aren’t kul tirans just humans with a different name and fat? They aren’t a separate race.
There’s no argument that holds water against high elves that wasn’t debunked by other allied races.
It does not matter if two races are the same biologically, nor their numbers, nor if their model is on the other faction. Heck, nowadays a race doesn’t even need to exist in lore before it’s made playable.
All that matters is to make some visual distinction, and nothing prevents the high elves from getting it. The end.
