Friendly Reminder:
When structuring an argument it is generally best to avoid using "two wrongs make a right" as a core principle. If a reason is given for why the Blood Elves should not be added, it cannot be refuted by citing some other race that does not adhere to that criteria- because that other race could have been a mistake as well. Making mistakes does not doom Blizzard to repeat them, nor should it.
"you should step on a nail!"
"but I think stepping a nail would be bad"
"but you stepped on a nail before!"
"ok, i guess i have to then!"
.....ow!

I dont accept they are on the wrong faction. There is no right or wrong about them being on the wrong side. Its how the story played out. It's history in WoW now.
The next best thing shouldn't involve something so similar. The next best thing should be something completely new and just as pretty.
They are on the wrong faction it was done because faction balance much like it is now was out of control although the pendulum was reversed.
1. Tyrande helped save them
2. The orcs burning their forests is what made them originally join the alliance
3. The trolls are their ancestral enemies no a different shade of green doesn't really matter to a blood elf
4. The scourge led by the former king of lord obliterated them and twisted their ranger general
5. Said ranger general is now very obviously chaotic evil and leading the scourage
6. The scourge are made up of former lord humans
7. The same lord humans who "abandoned" them it was lord that did that not stormwind
They make zero sense to be on the horde and were put there purely for faction balance reasons to give the horde a pretty race.
They are on the wrong faction... Jesus Christ you would rewrite the entire thing if you could. Make an entire established race rejoin the alliance. You guys are terrible at story telling. I'll be back later. Lol i need to go have some fun.

Not to mention very profitable for Blizz
This one has some imagination here, lmao.
Very profitable, pfft. You are in your own little bubble aren't you lol
10/10/2018 02:43 PMPosted by WyspersI really wish people wouldn't use thier headcannon on things I write but hey, here you are doing it.
You mean where everyone was praising the content before 7.3.5?
Im sorry, after being on Story and GD, I found the general consensus that Suramar was like on both sides for content and story. It was praised...this disconnect did not exist until 7.3.5 (where they realized that Thalyssra was siding Horde thanks to Tyrande being written badly, so par on usual.)
I wonder why that was /s.
Also thanks for dodging my point on comparing 7.1 to 7.3, I appreciate it.

I would support Half Elves for the Alliance. This way the models can be made different without having to retcon the lore. Now Alliance can have the blond haired blue eyed elves they always wanted without stepping on the toes of Blood Elves and the Horde.

There are 22% more horde than alliance at max level effecting faction balance would be a good thing especially since blizz is going to take a dump on the alliance again in 8.1 with raising night elf heroes as "free willed" forsaken.
balancing racials would fix this,
It would not actually. It would require a drastic overbalancing of racials to effect a population shift in that way. Currently of the top 100 guilds around 85 are horde the alliance raiding recruitment pool has been utterly decimated it's past the tipping point. At this point the best you can hope for is to get more casual players to be alliance which giving high elves might do since many people aren't fans of being errand runners for Azeroth's version of hitler. There is currently a 10% gap if even 1 to 3 percent switch which I think could happen that would be both a ton of money for blizz and shrink the gap to a more reasonable 4 to 8% which would mean there would only be between 8.3 to 17.3ish percent more horde than alliance still not perfect but at least getting back into the realm of 2 standard deviations.

Good luck with that. Considering your post is on page 44 which means the mods youâre asking to remove it as spam have already extended the post cap considerably, doesnât seem like a very informed request.

Source please for a direct quote where a dev (any dev) actually responds with ânoâ in reference to Alliance High Elves.

I mean from a lore perspective they absolutely are I'm not saying they should rejoin now but the entire reason they were added to horde is horde needed a pretty race it went completely against lore to add them.

That's a completely different group.
The High Elves people are asking for where never part of those events.
It's like saying asking for Stormwind Humans is bad because Lordaeron became Undead.

Lol say this to Blizzard when they need/want to turn a huge profit. Or their shareholders get involved, even if you ignore the high demand for them.
you do realise that they actually were planned as one of the vanilla alliance races but were replaced by gnomes.10/10/2018 03:05 PMPosted by Xathra10/10/2018 03:02 PMPosted by Tunkaningan...

Correction.. Blood Elves would have been wiped out. High Elves would have survived in Dalaran, Stormwind, and various lodges. Please do not confuse the two.

I am aware of this. Which kind of proves my point about them not belonging on the horde lore wise does it not?

Now that's something I can agree with comic relief race with sub 2% playrate that never needed to be added to the game at least not as one of the first races.

Thats fair. But you cannot claim that Suramar was not liked by Alliance up until 7.3.5 when Nightborne turned Horde.
Thats dismissal of the truth by saying otherwise (except the fact that the rep was awful until they fixed it and 7.1 was a timegated....but the story was generally well liked).
