I get the impression that one of the reasons some people are afraid of High Elves being added is because they want the ideas we came up with to make them distinct.

I mean not exactly “what we came up with” but they (as in some people, generalizing it’s seldom a good thing) do feel that everything that has to do with High Elves should belong to the Blood Elves; like from the moment Alleria showed up they be wanting tattoos, despite being only seen in Alliance High Elves.

Some of them even wanted Alleria, expected her to join the Horde because the Blood Elves were in it.
