Why would you purposefully call your event “The Undying challenge” and actually let people DIE during the challenge and still win?
That is intellectual dishonesty and a scam!

Who cares, noones going to watch anyway. Classic wow isn’t an esport and it’s better that way.
why does everyone care if there’s an esport around classic. it’s obviously just for the people that enjoy it, clearly it had an audience. why are we mad at a community event even if it’s not your cup of tea?
I honestly gave it a shot and really tried to keep an open mind. This event just proved that Blizzard has no place in any kind of “e-sports” scenario. Don’t call your event “Undying” if it’s really just a speed run. Anyone can do a speed run with a time penalty for deaths. It should have been called “Speed Run 10 man Naxx” or something.
What’s worse is as soon as the first team cleared, they immediately cut the feed and didn’t bother to show the second team finishing the last two minutes of Kel’Thzuad. You know… the team that actually did the full clear with no deaths on bosses. The “Undying” achievement?
Then it took them forever to show the total clear times and stats. The streamers did a good job for what it’s worth. You know they were chained to the desk to do and say certain things, but that’s just the “show-biz event” part of the deal, so no blame towards then.
The Arena Tournament should be “just as good”. It will probably involve arena teams competing to see who can pvp the most in Stranglethorn Vale during the Sunday fishing event. Whoever catches the most fish wins the Arena Tournament? Sounds about right…
What a joke.
Because it will lead to people crying for X and y nerfs and buffs because it’s unfair competitively.
^ This. Remember when SOM had hard core mode and all those hard core players kept whining about Terry being kited to SW? Things like this completely ruin the classic experience. It’s not about liking it or not, it’s about the future whining for changes to accommodate modes like this.
R A G E
oh and because sunday
Oh yeah that was super annoying, niche players asking for changes to the entire game to suit their playstyle that isn’t actually a part of the game. Classic was never supposed to be a competitive game. It’s just sarthe and his clown club trying to make content and become esport players in a game for old farts.
I wasn’t watching this, but that part is kind of lame.
Maybe they should have called it something else if they allowed deaths.
Well, the worst part is:
Both Progress and SF used a bug (wall jump) on Gothik to pull more trash into the room, and the commentators like “wow, extraordinary gameplay, bravo”.
I was like, cringing, remembering those people that got suspended for being on top of AQ40 gates for summoning because of the very same exploit (wall jumping).
Except in this case is worst, because it is a live and official Blizzard event.
All the 20 players (and both 4 commentators) should’ve been suspended for both exploiting and promoting exploits to the commuinity.
That was funny. All the Reddit and Discord threads from players making up their own rules for which deaths ‘don’t count’ towards Soul of Iron. Like a bunch of kids calling upon their everything-proof shield.
I’m not sure if I should even be impressed by anyone clearing Naxx in the first place? Realm first Naxx on Pagle was like, two-three hours after it opened up?
people selling undying achievement on my server for 30k
just have to afk at entrance
nice! hahah does that also unlock another achievement called “I got carried away” its funny on the new realm Maladarthsomething on horde side you can only pug raids if you can link the achievement that you already did it. I’m so glad I’m in a guild and I dont need to worry about that monkey business
Dang 30k? I got it for free
The funny thing is, we weren’t even trying for it
yep well people will sell anything that can be monetized on mega servers ![]()
Optimal deaths are more entertaining then watching them play super super safe
/ end thread
Did i miss something?
Yeah, Blizzard did an esports wow classic event on Sunday.
E-sport events are very cringe 95% of the time.
