If someone has listed cloth at 50s, do you list your auction at 49s?

If so… can I ask… why?

If you wanted a fast sale, surely you’d grossly undercut?

Is this a side effect of Classic players misunderstanding how the retail AH works? :thinking:

It feels pointless listing stuff to sell, when mats are bottoming out at 2s because of the incessant undercutters… when the undercutting is done for no apparent reason.

Because I genuinely don’t care about gold and just want the junk out of my bags. Causing an AH junkie to nerdrage is just an added bonus.

No because the change you are talking about was not done until like BFA or something recent.

If I undercut it’s usually by a good percentage so I can sell stuff quick.
If you sell 428 BoE shoulders for 110k, I’ll toss mine on for 70-80k giving you the chance to swipe em and relist at your price. I make gold, you make gold… win win.

Ive no idea if i undercut or not.
I just throw stuff on the AH and list it at whatever price it automatically fills in with.

When I put anything on it, and it’s not often, it never sells unless I drop it by at least 40% of the listed price.

I want max value while getting my stuff sold. Usually my stuff bought out instantly. IDC about other people’s posts.

i dont even know how one would make a decent amount of gold these days addons that auto scam and under cut for players that run 24/7 has totally cut out the average player

I love all the listings that are near or under vendor price. If you lose your deposit which is likely to happen, you would have received more to just sell it to the vendor. Those people are special.

I do when selling BoE epics I pick up when farming old raids. People list them for silly amounts, like in the 10s or even 100s of thousands. As though anyone wanting the rogue pants from mythic antorus isn’t perfectly able to solo the raid themselves for the rest of the set! Use your brains, people!

I constantly undercut people when I’m playing the AH. I want mine to sell before the person selling it cheapest. I also wanna make as much as I can, so I’ll literally undercut by a copper.

Prices gotta drop to find the minimum price. So, even if everyone undercuts by a little bit we’ll find that price!

I have my addon set up to do this. It also triggers something in buyers brains when they see 50x 48s cloth and 26374x 50s cloth. It’s like a limited time sale!

Because I know it makes AH junkies furious.

Honestly though, I haven’t used the AH in months. Prices on there are awful and makes the AH almost unusable.

Depends on what im selling

I picked up a stinkrot smasher on the cheap.

Took me 3 years off sporadic listing but i sold it for 3X what i paid for the other day. But i got the epic plans for the blacksmithing hammer and i undecut sell by 2-3g

I slightly undercut cause the cheapest goes but why sacrifice profit.

Im by no means an ah junkie just get lucky every now and again

For me, it’s wanting to get my item “highlight listed”, essentially putting my item or stack towards the top. Human nature usually chooses the path of least resistance. We’re also greedy by nature. So top and less, even by a few silver, less is less. I only undercut by a little bit, not even to maximize price but to attempt to keep the market from crashing for that item and it becoming worthless.

I usually just wait for undercutters to start posting at a nice discount, buy up their wares, and resell at a higher price. It’s easy gold, if you have the patience.

It’s not a surefire win for every market, but it works well for the ones I dabble in.

as someone who really enjoys the market in mmos this really angers me just by looking at it. ah pvp man… they don’t want to make money it’s crazy lol. ik no one cares but dammit i HATE undercutters so bad
