The Trevor Project sponsorship from Blizzard

Well done Blizz. The Trevor Project is a very solid organization that does great things and the % donation you are quoting should be a substantial amount. High-Fives

It is very nice. Glad to see it. I just saw Blizz’ tweet about (which was also very helpful in finding a ton of hateful people to block).

Oh, it’s time for the marketing to roll out, huh? Not to say it’s not a good cause, but you gotta know these corporations are only doing it for the PR.

Ahh, their back with the charities. How wonderful. :+1:

And so are their designs that still leave much to be desired. Though i guess a rainbow heart dipped in chocolate, strawberry and cotton candy is an upgrade i suppose.

…Wait, where’s the blue part of the trans flag? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I am going to buy a t shirt, it is nice.

It’s a feel good moment for some I guess, and it will be helpful. But at the end of the day Blizzard is donating your money, not theirs. It’s a pessimistic way of looking at it, I just hate corporations.

While I still roll my eyes hard at corporate pride stuff, I can’t fault a good charity.

Even if the act was done just for publicity

The good of the act will still help others

Yeah, but by now, we all know that. So you just have to overlook it and be happy about the good they are doing regardless of their motivations.

Look at it this way; corporations allow the use of their brand in this way for PR purposes, but the actual employees doing the work are real people who care about this.

While it should absolutely always be looked at with more than a little scrutiny, it’s worth remembering that these things only work as PR because public perception has changed so much over the years. I think that’s something to be happy about.

Which is why you can always donate directly to whoever that corporation is sponsoring instead of dealing with the corporation.

So if anyone doesn’t want to donate through Blizz, please visit The Trevor Project’s website to donate.

Tax break or not, Blizzard is offering an incentive to donate. Nothing wrong there.

Sheesh… I mean, I guess you can look at it like that. Frankly I don’t’ care why YOU think they are doing it, I am just glad they ARE doing it. In the end, money gets raised and goes to an Orginization that uses those funds for great things… That’s all I focus on.

Can this garbage attitude stop, they’re doing something good. Give them credit where it is due. Why you gotta spin it as a negative pr stunt? As a gay man, I appreciate their efforts.
Complaining for the sake of it.

I see it present on all of the items that are trans-flag-colored myself (the brand logo shirts where the logo is colored in the flag style).

Would you know what The Trevor Project is without Blizzard’s partnership? I’d argue a lot of players wouldn’t.

“In your opinion.” There are a lot of good causes, and which one you prioritize as more important doesn’t mean it actually is.

Curing cancer would be a better cause, feeding africans would be a better cause. Helping the homeless is just PR, and apparently millenials are biting into it.
