I could see this working too.
I like the Idea of manually reloading, possibly with different Ammo types that augment your attacks.
Like if you remember how Flametongue and Frostband used to work in legion.
I like this, but I really want to avoid another sword and board tank.
I wouldn’t be upset though, they’re plenty of good shields that look like gears.
I think Vulpera would work well too. In BFA they have a quest line and world quest where they test out stolen Goblin tech and even dunk on it a bit saying something like it could be useful.
Could be something else, but tanking with a Gun/Bow sounded odd in my head.
Maybe a 2h but so many classes use them already for various roles. Including 3 tanks!
1h/Shield is just War and Pal tanks.
I’ve never been a very big fan of Racial class restrictions. Except where there are overabundant reasons to the contrary.
For Example, Zandalari Trolls can’t be Warlocks. But there’s very few reasons why they can’t, they simply can’t be them.
But Night Elves can NEVER be Warlocks, because fel energy destroyed their entire way of life and connection to immortality, and there’s a cultural sect of religious zealots that hunt down and imprison those who use Fel magic.
Voltaxic Rounds for 4 target cleave. Cryotic rounds for Slowing attacks.
That’s fair. I just feel like the small races are the only ones who show any affinity for tech in the WoWverse.
Compensate for lack of size with powerful tech and all that.
So, Goblins and Gnomes are Obvious, We’ve seen Vulpera repurpose goblin technology like it’s not complicated in the slightest.
There are other examples of course.
In Warcraft 3, The Dwarves had everything from Tanks to Flying Machines, Dark Iron Dwarves are quite fond of their explosives and clockwork Golems.
The Orcs love their war engines, Iron Stars, and the occasional Giant scorpion mech. Even one of the Engineering trainers in Vanilla was an Orc.
And the Mag’Har orcs of Draenor No slouch at all.
Giant Mecha fel reavers with orc pilots. Orc technicians and demolitons experts holding back the encroaching mushroom infestation from draenor’s seas
Oh and and of course everything that happened in Blackrock Foundry.
Edit: And the Draenei have Artificers, Mechs, Laser weapons and energy shields.
One reason that I hope they stay with the Goblins and Gnomes is because I’d really like to see a bunch of race restricted classes.
Some examples of what I mean.
Watchers: Night Elf
Dark Rangers: Blood Elf (but they become undead)
Shadow Hunter: Darkspear and Zandalari
Tinker: (Horde) Goblin and Leper Gnome (Alliance) Gnome and Mechagnome
Apothecary or Mad Scientist: Forsaken
Artificer: Lightforged Draenei and Draenei.
However, if they do open it to more races, maybe they’ll at least give different animations and names based on the race.
Artificer: Lightforged Draenei and Draenei.
Mad Scientist: Forsaken
Tinker: (Horde) Goblin and Leper Gnome (Alliance) Gnome and Mechagnome
They couldn’t handle 9 classes in Vanilla, and they’ve added lots of new content since then.
Because new content is fun, and new classes are fun.
You pretend that if they stopped adding classes, Class design would suddenly get better.
But BFA didn’t add a new class, and it’s class design was miserable.
I don’t know why people can’t get this through their head and why they spew nonsense about not balancing the classes they have.
That didn’t stop them in Wrath. Didn’t stop them in MoP. Didn’t stop them in Legion. And like you said, things didn’t magically get better in all the xpacs that didn’t have new classes.
Unless they write whole new Legion campaigns, we likely aren’t seeing new classes.
And don’t give me the " But then people could just not level in Legion" excuse. This player base has shown time and time again that locking people out of something basic is akin to an actual war crime. So, very unlikely.
I think you’re really over-complicating things.
I imagine with each new expansion release will be assigned to Timewalking as the next expansion comes out:
So Currently you can choose any expansion to level up through, then you level up through shadowlands to get to max level, Once 10.0 comes out, you can choose any expansion including Shadowlands, and then level up through 10.0
Legion wouldn’t need massive sweeping Reworks in order to work for Tinkers. Just have Hobart Grapplehammer give you a gun, He’s already an NPC in Dalaran, and he explicitly says he bought millions of guns to fight the legion with.
So just have him give you a gun with Legendary stats, and have him send you to each of the 4 Legion zones. Problem solved.
You can still do the classic death knight starting zone if you really want, you know.
Can’t imagine why, If I have to torture any more Scarlet Crusade zealots, I’m gonna break something
