The token is not pay to win

Best thing about this thread is watching the OP mald out trying to defend his trash, pay-to-win game lol.

I love how people complain that they hate this game and it’s pay to win but still play it.

+1 keep fighting the good fight

Why are you playing if it’s trash?

Who said I’m playing?

The point of a game is to have fun. Buying tokens doesn’t guarantee fun.

Your level 11 worgen hunter seems to indicate that you’ve played wow once or twice

Was sadder is if your NOT playing… what are you doing here?

Depends on who you ask. For a lot of people, their idea of fun is just having that achievement and gear. They’ll gladly buy gold to make that happen.

Making you ask questions, obviously.

I don’t care if you played Vanilla.

I was specifically pointing that out because the person I was talking to said I’d never played in a version of the game without tokens.

Still aren’t pay to win, no matter how much you want to complain they are.

Why are you putting bought in quotes? It’s literally buying their ability to do damage. They bought their rank above you on the meters. They bypass every ounce of work you put into your character to be where you are.

That may not personally affect your button pressing, but it deals a savage blow to the “massive” part of the MMO experience.

Forgot one, people that can farm gold and can easily afford a token, but still know if something quacks it is a duck.

In fact, you’re a moron if you think either of those things have absolutely ANY bearing on if wow is P2W. I mean, you do realize there are P2W games that don’t involve WoW gold right? So WoW gold itself is completely irrelevant to P2W itself. Cute try, but trash argument.

Also, P2W has nothing to do with if something exists in game or not. Plenty of games have paid items people can get in game, the paying just gets said items in 5 minutes instead of 2 years. Yes, those are pay to win games. You’re paying for an in game advantage with real money. That is pay to win. Time is an advantage. But sure, lets say you’re right and the thousands of people who say games like BDO is pay to win are wrong…

Not sure how much more basic I can get with explaining it.

Pretty sure it has been explained 100 times, and pretty sure any definition of pay to win you can find on the web backs those explanations, but pay to win has NOTHING to do with what is “required”. Pay to win is paying for an advantage.

But yeah, the 100’s of definitions you can find via a 5ms web search are wrong, and you oblivious WoW fanbois who created your own definition of pay to win are right…
:laughing::roll_eyes:

You’re not getting an advantage if everyone can buy it without RMT.

I literally linked three sources that back my statements.

It’s always the classic trashcans that hide their retail mains because they are bad :joy:

It HAS been spelled out, 100’s of times, if you don’t get it by now you’re too dumb to understand.

Here, I will spell it out.
First, YOU don’t get to define winning, it doesn’t matter what YOUR personal feelings are or how good YOU play, YOU do NOT set the bar on if something is pay to win.

Second, pay to win doesn’t mean you automatically win by paying. Someone can buy all of the best gear in the game, if they don’t log on and play, or go AFK, guess what, they’re still going to lose. THEREFORE someone “not winning” after paying doesn’t automatically make something NOT pay to win.

Third, and here I will spell it out;
Pay (real money)
2
Win (an in game advantage)

Thats about as objective as anyone can get. There is nothing specific to WoW to define what pay to win is, because despite all of your arguments, pay to win isn’t a WoW exclusive, THEREFORE what is pay to win cannot be decided on by what is or is not exclusive to wow, so stop with the trash arguments that are exclusive to WoW.

Fourth, every single definition of Pay to Win you can find online, except for yours and very few others here posting defines pay to win as outlined in my third spelling out. The definitions DO NOT include the following terms that you use in all of your arguments:
“Only”, “exclusive”, “skill”, “bad player”. No, they all state “ADVANTAGE”. If that is too fast for you, I will spell it out… a-d-v-a-n-t-a-g-e.

And yes, spending less time than someone else doing something is an advantage. Now, if you got that advantage by paying real money, yes, that is you paying to win.

Pretty simple to understand for anyone that can read, so hopefully you get it this time.

Life must be hard with an IQ of 60 like yours, sir.

Is that the best you can come up with? “Derp, hide retail, derp derp”
First, I don’t play retail, haven’t since god knows when, I think Legion maybe? so irrelevant.
Second, how good ANYONE is in retail is is irrelevant to if WoW is pay to win, so what are you even trying to point out? Anything? Just deflect from trash arguments?

See above, time is an advantage. Pretty basic concept here.

The token was a lazy fix for RMT.

Now it’s a nightmare that has really plagued the game.

It’s pay to win. Get your head out of the sand.

So you’re commenting on something you don’t even play?

WoW isn’t pay to win. Even then not everyone buys boosts.

Time isn’t an advantage.

You have to have an advantage in game. You’re not getting an advantage because not everyone is broke.
