The token is not pay to win

What advantage does buying the token offer?

Buying a BoE week 1 of raid? You mean like all the people who saved gold up in preparation of the raid, weeks before it dropped, so they could buy BoEs?

No advantage there.

Buying carries? How is that any different than a guild carrying a bad player or low ilevel alt? Literally the exact same thing.

No advantage there.

Pay to win means gaining an advantage over those who couldnt achieve the same results in game. And considering how braindead easy it is to make gold right now, nothing is “pay to win”. I bought my rank 6 legendary july 6th, for around 150kg gathering the mats myself and asking a crafter to make it. That was half my gold. In a MONTH im up to 370k gold.

No, i dont farm herbs for hours on end. No, i dont sell carries. I sell my Korthite crystals. I do my callings. I use/sell my mats from the mission table and garden. Thats literally all i do. All very casual stuff, and in a month i’ve made 20k g more than the value of a token.

Keep your head in the sand… Buying a token gives you gold. What can you do with gold? Buy carries and high ilevel BOE’s

Its a stealth P2W model…

Both points i addressed. Maybe actually read?

I did read, I disagree with your opinion.

Its not an opinion.

What advantage does a token buyer get over a person whos guild carries him?

What is buying a full set of 253 ilvl gear to beat up people in 233 gear that cannot get better gear because of the rating system called? Outplayed? :joy:

Who cares? The token buyer still gets a vault he would have not normally have gotten without the carry.

Is high ilevel everything? No, but its enough for alot of people to spend real money on tokens to buy carries for more powerful gear.

Ah, you have no argument. Thanks for proving my point!

It’s basically going to the line of P2W without technical passing it… But it is flirting with it…
And it’s starting to be a cancer and rotting wow from with in…

Take two people, give one unlimited access to a credit card to pay for as much gold and as many services as they like, give the other person nothing, they can only use in game earned items… now leave them go for a month and see where they’re at. After a month come and tell us that there are no pay to win elements to modern day WoW.

You gotta be thick in the skull to think tokens are not P2W.

Exactly!!! Its so obvious…

You are paying additional money to bypass standardized game mechanics.

It’s paying to win period.

Paying for gold for carries and getting carried for free by your guild are 2 seperate things and apples/oranges.

Your guild likely is not carrying your toons on the regular and certainly not funneling gear to it.

Also, if your guild is at the skill level of “carrying”, then in all likelihood you are at a similar skill level. So they are carrying you numerically at best (dps) and not mechanically/ability wise.

Lastly - the # of altruistic guilds that will carry any/every alt you have is likely less than the # of gold carries going on.

Regardless, there is a difference between getting a “boost” through content you are capable of doing on your own (guild carry) vs. buying a carry through content you are incapable of doing (gold carry).

Can you really not see the distinction? I think you are intentionally deluding yourself.

All that being said, gold carries are still not P2W by the strict definition. As it still requires other players and good RNG in the form of drops. It’s getting close though.

I much doubt he would his face sheweth for a goodly length of time thereafter.

Or else a dyed in the wool shill.

/agreed

Its kinda worse… People who can afford it will keep doing it until they get their desired result. In other P2W games its much more obvious as you always get what you pay for. In SL specifically the amount of loot dropped was nerfed, what is the result? More carries and much more specifically more tokens being bought.

This makes a lot of sense but it will fall on deaf ears. You’re trying to explain logical arguments to an angry crowd of pitchfork-wielding illiterates. It’s not going to register, I’m afraid.

How about buying carry all the way to Gladiator? Or buying raid to get the legendary bow/upgrade(exclusive loot to the buyer)Or KSM season 2 ?
Dont even need to buy BOEs. Just fresh level 60 and poof max gear ilvl next 4-6hour?

Lets say i drop a million bucks on tokens. What “exactly” have I won? An achievement that means nothing? A piece of loot that will become irrelevant?

Winning would be if I bought something that gives a 1 time ultimate item. None of which has ever existed in WoW.
