BTW, if you really want to start a < Balance > guild, get a streamer on board. It benefits them to keep the game active/healthy if they want to continue having it as content.

• Old data on WoWhead, from when /who() worked
• Data from consensus
• Data aggregated from warcraftlogs

I mean, yeah… that’s a pretty decent idea, and also a start. But, literally, so is just starting, which I have, and I am. Whether there is an issue cause by faction imbalance or not, I am actually doing something about it (and not crying and whining about it).

Actually, the most updated data (based on a combination of individual characters seen on warcraft logs and auction house listings in the last 2 weeks) does suggest a number of servers have a pretty severe imbalance.

39/61 you mean. Which is… quite bad, actually. Especially considering that ratio has been steadily worsening. For every 40 man alliance raid, this means there are approximately 63 horde players. Scale that up and you can see how this quickly becomes a large problem.

What I find absolutely bad however is the toxic community on these forums with comments like “reroll to PvE”, “get good” “I read these posts for the tears” etc… These are legitimate issues but people like that are just idiotic bullies even on this forum.

I’ll never feel sorry for people who were warned about the stove being hot but still touching it, anyways. And complain that their hand is now burned and blame the company of the stove for being too hot

Agree 100%. Especially about the toxic environment on the forums. Everyone saying “just reroll” or “go back to retail” are gonna look pretty stupid when everyone takes their advice and their servers are left with only one faction being really active while the other is a wasteland.

The funny part is when that happens you know that the same people who are laughing at the people complaining about griefers are gonna be the same people who come running to the forums whining and crying about how their server is boring and not very active anymore. And then THEY will be the ones demanding server transfers.

I won’t be one of those people. I have zero issues re-rolling. See, I’m in no rush/hurry. Game is pretty soloable. Grouping isn’t necessary. Difference is I’m prepared, but it seems others are not.

Well, that’s an interesting point. Kurinnaxx is looking like about 50:50 according to the raid logs, but some people are reporting that it already is that sort of a wasteland.

I don’t know what others are doing about it, but personally I have abandoned all my Horde characters, and am Alliance on one of the most severely imbalanced servers (according to whatever data I could find), and we’ll see how that goes.

My personal thoughts on what others can do, if they feel so inclined to do anything is something like:

a player-lead initiative that may be helpful, somewhat thematic for Alliance (maybe), and even community-fostering (something, I believe at least a portion of the WoW Classic community cares about), could look something like this:

Someone active on the forums, and on a server with high faction disparity becomes a Balance Movement Ambassador.

Duties of a Balance Movement Ambassador

Reach out to guilds on your server to:

• compile lists of recruitment needs
• gather starting resources (silver, bags, etc.)
• coordinate leveling parties (days/times/groups/escorts)
• liaise with BMAs from other servers to coordinate social PR and recruitment efforts
• recruit and delegate tasks to Assistant BMAs

World PVP in WoW is a joke. It’s fun for a short time. What really matters is organized BG’s and Arena’s. One more month left for Wpvp to die as we are seeing it now.

While I do feel for you, for feeling you’re in a situation that you are powerless to control, I don’t believe it to be the case, nor to ever really be true.

They can:

a. quit, further worsening faction imbalance
b. reroll to horde, to pve, or to the single alliance dominated pvp server, also furthering imbalance on existing pvp servers.
c. do nothing

There is always the option to do something. Whatever that may be.

Are you also recruiting for rerolls, and offering similar to those who would come to your server, and try helping even the numbers?

Made a raid yesterday 10 to fight 15 at epl, wipes them and camped them.

With in 5mins a raid of 30 fly in.

Took me 20 mins to get 10 wanting to leave the fighting to join fighting else where.

With horde they are waiting for a fight because of the limited ally to kill.

Other issues being guilds stick together because it’s better honor. 5man pvp = more honor than raid pvp.

Of course I went else where, how ever winterspring, epl, wpl, searing, burning, wetlands, hillsbrad and felwood are all filled with raids of horde and hardly any ally.

Most of our raids go to hillsbrad, but they only last so long before porting out.

Either we dominate them and get bored or they dominate us and people leave.

How ever I rather small group and try and snag gank squads with my friends.

With the way honor works, it’s better to keep moving.

35-199 honor a kill feels good.

Not sure why so many want to blob for 1-2 honor a kill, then after they corpse camp them they get 0.
