wPVP did not affect me personnally (yet) most likely because my server is horde dominant, so I leveled from 43 to 45 no problem in the last two days. However I can feel the problem a 7 to 3 ratio or like could do to anyone on the wrong side of it. What I find absolutely bad however is the toxic community on these forums with comments like “reroll to PvE”, “get good” “I read these posts for the tears” etc… These are legitimate issues but people like that are just idiotic bullies even on this forum.

Now, what may likely happen soon is that people WILL quit over this. Or reroll indeed. I mean, this game have been played before, I don’t see why anyone that is pissed at it would continue doing something that is 15 years old. The consequence of this will be that these servers will become deadzones on one faction and when BGs arrive who will be crying? The same ones right now who are laughing out people out of the servers. We will get people coming here, whining that they have long queues while the other faction is instant, etc etc

I think some people being laughed at today could come back then and read these posts for the tears…

I think people are much more likely to quit then to reroll on a new realm. I know I would be pretty upset right now if I was trying to level with all the ganking going on. All we can really do now is wait for BGs though.

This is the biggest pvp related thing to happen since arenas probably, so expect lots of hype and lots of tears. But most of it will die down in the coming week

What I don’t understand is why people are as upset as they are. They knew what world PvP is all about; they knew what they were getting into when they rolled on a PvP server. Despite all of this, they’re throwing their arms up in air and exclaiming, “WAHHH! I KEEP GETTING GANKED! IT’S ALL BLIZZARD’S FAULT!!!”. Kills me.

i played vanilla, i played 500+ days. It was nothing like this, Wpvp is one thing, it was NEVER this lopsided… never was it EVERY single fly point, never was it 5v1 10v2, 20v5. Never was ever server having issues with simply trying to level, on top of that its only alliance having this issue… look the at realms who can transfer, not 1 single server is “alliance only” for transfers. This is not vanilla, this is not what i pay for… difficult would be fine, unplayable is not

I think that the forums represent a very small, but specific demographic of the WoW community. I certainly am active enough on them to not exclude myself from that, but I would point out that the negativity and whining is much, much louder here than anywhere else. And, you might expect that to be the case.

People don’t often go out of their way to tell everyone how regular, or decent their experience was. Even if it was good, or even relatively exceptionally good or great, they tend to go out of their way much less than they would if they had a bad experience.

I think a very tiny fraction of the WoW community came to Classic, and rolled on PVP servers expecting Warmode, or something similar (i.e. PVE servers), and didn’t get them. For some reason, those people try to solo PVE questing content, amidst raiding parties of the opposing faction, and continue to do so, while getting killed, for a long time…

Then, those people become frustrated, and come and post on the forums. For some people, especially those who knew that PVP servers meant that there would be players versing other players in combat, it’s difficult for them to comprehend a world where someone would misunderstand what PVP meant, and then complain about it on forums, when it happens.

People will quit over a lot of things. Some people may quit, because they are busy with their lives. Another person might quit because they no longer like the race or sex they chose for their character (I deleted a female character I had from Vanilla, prior to sex changes being available).

I would imagine that if a lot of people quit Classic WoW because it is too hard for them, that will give a lot of pride to those who don’t quit, and find out that that happened. If that indeed happens.

And that is precisely why so many people who spent countless hours in queues on the more popular servers were reluctant to leave. However, on some of those servers, once the ability to transfer off was created, large numbers of Alliance players ruined them, by leaving (and you will see that tiny vocal minority of complainers on the forum trying to make it sound like that’s Horde to blame).

That sounds like a good title for one’s WoW memoirs.

How do you know they knew what wpvp is about?

If they did indeed know, they would not have rolled on a pvp server.

Wpvp did not affect me because I know at the end of the day balance is an illusion and the only thing that can stop me is this noise swirling around in my head. And my laziness.

Well Ive always played on a pvp server, but to me a pvp server means fighting people your own level and the occasional 60 ganking you, and thats pretty much how it was until honor came out. I didnt expect it to be this bad, luckily I hit 60 before this or I would be pretty upset too. I didnt play in vanilla but I doubt it was this bad due to many factors, you basically have to die 5 times to get into a dungeon.

The nice thing about classic is that even when you quit, the instant you pick the game back up, you don’t have to worry about buying expansions and learning how to play again.

You just pick up where you left off.

The issue people find is that its REALLY REALLY REALLY hard for one faction. Other faction has ezstreet carebear mode in their pvp server.

Horde can level to 30 uncontested in Barrens. 30-45 they can run to almost every dungeon uncontested and even sit outside SM uncontested.

Mix that in with a huge faction disparity, if anyone ever kills you just say something in general chat and 1-2 full raids will dispose of that alliance.

I don’t think telling people to roll on a pve server is necessarily meant in a negative way.

Maybe some people should reroll on a pve server, notice how there’s a lack of drama coming from pve servers? That’s because they’re all just enjoying the game, not a care in the world.

I think rushing pvp gear that is on par with aq and naxx was a mistake this early to be honest. Still just move in groups.

Rank 7-10 pvp gear is on par or better than Tier 1.
Rank 12-13 pvp gear is on par with Tier 2.
Rank 14 PvP weapons are better than most Tier 2 but not as good as Nefarian loot.

AQ40/Naxx gear is much better than PvP gear.
