That’s an easy question to answer. The why is because most players don’t care to learn the basics and/or are not skilled enough to execute.
100%, but tanks right now are not OP. I think they are in a decent spot right now where they need to press buttons to survive and rely on group stops and utility.
Than why are we letting people who cant do it, To get it with no actual skill still? We are too overpowered where skill doesnt matter until the really high end content
Compared tanks now (legion to now) to tanks before that. Most tanks wasn’t be able to self-stain that long to mid-high content even tho you were geared. Only dk and pally were be able to live most things but take a minute to kill something.
Now they have great defensives, great self healing, even better dps.
Tanks are overpowered no matter how you look them now. They shouldn’t be great at all 3 things. Where the other roles are okay at best at 2.
dont even add on cc or stuns to that because they still be better aka prot pally
Part of the issue is players failing upwards. Early in the season, there was a huge bottle neck at +12 keys because the affix used to be +20% instead of the current +10%. This made everyone farm +10 keys for vault and +8 keys for crests. In return, it brought a ton of players into the +8-10 key range who were not ready for it. This happens every season, but this one was particularly bad because of the bottleneck.
This is also exacerbated with the increased prevalence of streamers who do “viewer keys”. Essentially carrying players for views.
Tanks are significantly reduced in their ability to maintain self-sustain at content they are appropriately geared for. Meaning not overgeared. In DF, Tanks were able to maintain self-sustain and solo encounters.
At this moment, tanks can self-sustain for a period of time, but not indefinitely. We are not OP at the moment and our DPS is lesser than the lowest DPS spec.
Sadly this is not for the average M+ player (even in the us only 56% of m+players only timed a 2) This why I don’t believe it because The skill needed to so a 10 isnt that hard because of overgearing as an tank. So the problem isnt skill. So gear is that? Apart of it yes. Because gear is so powerful 10 ilvls at the end of a patch is so huge, it feels like 20% increase. Than the role.
well this false because we still have people solo content at their gear level. We have people doing 4 dps and 1 tank in mid to high content. Its is harder as a skill level but not impossible for the somewhat good player. I have personally solo a 8+ dawnbreaker first boss as an brewmaster at 610, 40% to killed. Its is do able to everything with the right tank even more so with prot pally and blood dk.
If a normal tank baseline can solo content like without being one of the best tanks to solo than tanks are too powerful.
It should be like prot pally and blood should be barely to do that with a great player. Not be an normal thing.
I am to lazy to look it up but arguably the biggest hurdle over mythic plus is simply starting it. I can see most people running it getting ksm with how low of a score it requires. KSH is where I would expect to see the drop off.
To you point though, the bar for KSM isn’t lower. You need +6-7s for KSM this season when it was +15s before. The KSH % is likely to hit ~20% before the season ends.
It’s clear you don’t understand how RIO data works. Lmao. The 56% means that if you timed all dungeons at +2 then you are at the 56th percentile.
Forum posts have a bias towards having negative experience. So there will be a bias towards posters who have received negative feedback about their tanking.
to tell me because percentile is base on who have the io. But I am getting at it still go around the amount the players who did it. Inline as % of players
we don’t know 100% how many players are there. But the amount of players overall tells you baseline 600000 of players only did all 2s
In the most basic sense percentage refers to how many out of a100%. Percentile refers to your standing or rank among the population visualized in a bell curve.
Being the 56th percentile doesn’t mean 56% of the players base or population achieved all +2s.
i know, it can tell the average of the players, than the is the % in the logs of players. Its the info we are given. We don’t know the 100th so we have to use the number of players at that 56th to say thats about half so theres 44% havent even timed all 2s
It says characters Mouse over the % it will tell you.
