The tank conspiracy:

The word “not” does not invalidate name-calling else everyone would do it that waaay in these forums with absolute Intent :stuck_out_tongue:

The forums are already a mess.

M+ Scaling isn’t exactly a mystery, so it’s not too hard to extrapolate that M0’s being pretty cruisy even as a fresh 70 means that once you have gear, Tanks aren’t going to be threatened by anything but the extreme upper level of M+.

Once you factor in 420+ ilvl, good trinkets, actually enchanting your gear and using consumables, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that a tank will be three times stronger than they are compared to being freshly dinged.

10% doesn’t really change a whole lot though, since the strength of the meta tanks is largely in survivability and damage, not raw mitigation.

There’s definitely going to be another (several) tuning parses and I don’t doubt they’ll hit Warriors and DH’s especially with a nerfbat when it happens.

Shall we throw the COC and TOS out the window then since according to you it doesn’t matter. Heck lets get rid of privacy and policy as well, :+1:

Not any time soon, they haven’t fixed any of bear’s long-running issues.

“We”? Can’t do that.

Yes it does.

Yes you can by not following it since you agree it doesn’t matter. Knock yourself out :+1:

No I can’t.

why not ?

Because I want to keep my ability to post.

So it does matter to you to follow it .

How many times are you going to show yourself as a hypocrite in this thread

Depends. How many times are you going to respond to my posts?

As long as Blizzard allows it

Sounds wonderful.

Absolutely :+1:

I’m slightly offended at the nerf only because I chose this past week to level one of my monks.

On the whole though, I think it comes back to the mindset. Launch with 110% and scale back to 100%? Upsetti spaghetti. Launch at this current 100%? Slightly miffed but hopeful tanks.

I do think when it comes to m+ that the breaking point should be “can we do enough damage in the time limit” and not “how much threat can I pull before I have to run”

I would like to think that there is always enough damage being done in the time limit because most DPS charts come from guild leaders who dictate who-does-more-damage-than-who at peak performance.

Peak performance isn’t continuous… at least, I think. I’m not sure if they even DO peak performance.

I guess I don’t fall into your perception of reality then… I’m not a tank because of any of these things… I’m a tank because I am the rock that the waves break against. Oh and because I like to say when pulling:

Because we were… even under geared going into a mythic, bosses posed little to no threat to me, without even bothering to use def cooldowns I could solo most of them.

You mean healers will have to do something other than heal dps that try and face tank pulls, face tank avoidable damage, and generally be bad? The horror… oh and healers will be happy to actually have to heal the tank.

This is only a issue because of bad tanks stressing the healers by over pulling because the healer knows every pull will be a struggle to keep the tank up and the bad dps that don’t interrupt and refuse to stop standing in bad alive.

My healer is miffed when bad dps stand in bad, big bang attacks from mobs go uninterrupted, and when bad dps think they need to pull packs because they want a fast run to go even faster.

I think in general Brewmaster Monks are doomering.

Yeah, they’re the weakest tanks at the moment and probably would still be one of the weaker tanks even if they were excluded from the 10% DR nerf. But Monks have historically been pretty bad at lower levels of content since they’re all about avoiding being one-shot at the cost of a higher effective damage intake.

Once content actually starts to hurt, Staggers ability to provide a consistent damage intake will start to shine.

Or maybe I’m wrong and they’ll be relegated to purely Raid Tanks.

I mean, small indie devs and whatnot. Despite cutting a raid tier from Shadowlands, IMO Dragonflight shouldn’t have launched (let alone launch the actual first season) in 2022.

Balance is always going to be one of the first things to get half-assed when they’re trying to rush content out the door.

My prediction is that we’re going to see a tuning patch in probably about a week and a lot of VERY unhappy DH’s of both specs.
