Myth: People choose to play tank for the sole purpose of protecting their teammates, practicing the dungeon and their class, or climb the Mythic ranks.
Reality: People choose to play tank only to fulfill the role, get quick dungeon queues, level up their character faster, or get more chances for loot drops.
And now we have the tank nerf. I’m going to get so much heat for this, but I actually welcome it. So many “tanks” decide to rush and skip thinking they’re invincible. Well, the torch of superiority has been passed to the healers.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we will have a healer shortage. We shouldn’t, because the Dracthyr were released.
So tanks. Remember that message I gave you? Nah, don’t worry about it. I won’t post it here, either. But just know that if you decide to miff your fellow player who decided to take the role of healer…
Your commitment to play tank will be the same as your character back-side-up on the floor. Dead.
Tank nerfs have happened at the beginning of a lot of past expansions to prevent issues where gearing up later in the expansion causes tanks to become nearly indestructible towards the end of an expansion
Actually it just makes healers much more relevant which is a good thing
I agree with this. I want to make the generalization that people talk too much about the tank shortage. And don’t get me wrong, I’m one of them, but the healers are the ones who forgives our mistakes (most of the time) and offer a resurrection.
For real… when was the last time anybody saw a “healer shortage” thread?
Also remember OP: Teamwork. Youre in a dungeon party. It’s your party facing the monsters in there, and the tank is the vanguard but can’t accomplish his job alone.
I play the specializations I like regardless if they are good are not. My current line-up is Protection Warrior, Frost Death Knight, Havoc Demon Hunter, and Devastation Evoker.
