Why release gems for the rings and then hotfix nerf them when you could’ve done so during PTR? isn’t that what PTR is for? To make sure things actually release in a usable state? Your inability to balance the game prior to launch cost me 5k gold in crafting as well as precious timegated stones being ground up to facilitate the upgrade items.
Did you guys learn NOTHING from the fiasco of shards of domination?
They fixed a bug that allowed “theres also a still unfixed interaction for healers thats causing the wild spirit stone to have 100% uptime, we’re talking 40-50k hps in raid from ring” healers to overperform.
They also nerfed proc rate of the leech stone and gave a forced internal cooldown of 20s to the humming stone basically killing the gem combo. If it was unintended they should’ve fixed it during ptr and not waited until people already sunk resources into upgrading their gems for that particular gem combo
das why you don’t jump on the “abuse bug on a new feature that will definitely get tuned the whole week it’s released because they can’t be bothered to tune it using PTR feedback only”
Blizz: we need to see if it will be as op in live as it is in ptr ← brain dead take yet they keep doing it over and over
Honestly idgaf anymore about this ring. I’m more excited about the 20 gold I get for vendoring the stones than I am about whatever BiS gem combo there is.
They could have made EVERYONE happy by just adding haste/mastery/crit/vers gems and letting us upgrade them with fragments but instead they made a garbo system.
I really like everything else about the Forbidden Reach but F this stupid ring.
I don’t usually criticize the devs, but it seems like an incredibly basic thing to have automated tests simming all combinations of stones. As a lifelong software developer, I’m literally in disbelief. Some scenarios are difficult to automate, some are hard to test. This is not the case here.
This happens every freaking time. They use the players as their full qa. Its the way games are made now. Quick to release, not fully tested, buggy and incomplete and then fixed later with patches. This should be 100% spot on tough, there are a finite number of combinations that SHOULD have ALL been simmed and tested. This was not some weird interaction with some obscure item, this was fully testable… they just dropped the ball and now anyone that spent the time and gold to upgrade feels bad. On par for wow, do better blizzard.
