The Sub fee should enable a premium, not earn a right

My mom said “I pay to work”. That’s not right.

I had this set of ideas, listed below, that would make it so the sub fee was optional.

For every sub fee you pay, you automatically earn a hybrid WoW token to convert into either gold on the AH or Bnet balance.

OR:

Paying a sub fee entitles you to a secret pocket dimension named Blingtron’s Secret Island (Tentative Name). The de-facto place to earn gold without having to play the Auction House. This area gets updated like the Darkmoon Faire. Has dungeons/raids to earn gold, similar to Dimension of Greed from Diablo 3. You also earn a special currency, Blingtron’s Sacred Gold, which can be used to buy super useful items, depending on Blizzard’s mood on gear/runs/carries/etc.

But definitely:

You are free to do all of everything except the above idea(s). The sub fee makes it more lucrative rather than a right to play.

I know I’m probably going to be flamed for this because of the ancient stereotype, but whatever. Leave your feedback.

I mean SWTOR/ESO does this right, and they have a sub fee for premium rather than base gameplay.

I think your mom should find a new job then, paying to work doesn’t sound like a good business strategy.

They also have an even more dead game than WoW.

You basically want ESO.

You don’t have to pay a sub in that, at all.

If you DO pay 15 bucks a month, you get more bank space/tradeskill space and I think 1500 crowns a month (there currency to spend in the game store, for mogs/pets/mounts/housing)?

Also, you PAY to play a game. It is how you play the game which determines if it seems like “work.”

This, so much this, if neither of my ideas work.

@Poothe

Well, I stated an example, it doesn’t have to be the most correct example, just one that satisfies the agenda here.

For example, Kypookins mentioned ESO.

@Kalaart

She is going to be a teacher. Masters in Special Education.

So your basically asking for more spoon-feeding?

If I answer yes, what will you do?

Sub Fee does give you premium. You can level to what ever level you like, and have less restrictions than those who are on trial accounts that don’t pay a cent.

Strange, ESO did as well, as Kypookins said, and they are doing well.

Then feel very free to continue your adventures Elsweyr.

Because it’s elder scrolls and hasn’t had too many bad reviews or been out long

I’m in the “Hoping 8.2 fixes WoW” crowd.

You will

SWOTOR only does that stuff because the sub system failed for them

Kinda failing for Blizzard too. Hence why I opened this thread with “My mom pays to work.”

Nope. I quite SWTOR after just a few months because of their pay for premium system. I don’t like to feel like I’m being nickel and dimed to death. I like a sub system that puts everyone on equal playing ground. You pay the sub, you get the full game. Blizzard is already walking a fine line with their tokens, imo.

Two distinct sources of logic detected.

Cannot process.

Help. Error.

Error.

He doesn’t realize that I’m a Blood Knight

That is true considering the lore.

But this ain’t the lore now, is it?

He killed mAh rp I is so sad :sob:

posting In another handout king thread.

When you think you deserve 415 gear from doing heroic dungeons people aren’t going to take you seriously.

Also using swtor as an example for something outside of “What not to do” is an error. At least wow isn’t plagued with rumors it’s being shut down.
