The Burning of Teldrassil is after the Drought started.
The Night Warrior was before Elune learned the Night Elves went to the Maw.
The Night Elves being in the Maw is why Sylvanas’ Val’kyr can raise Night Elves suddenly. They had access to the Night Elf Souls all of a sudden cause Elune didn’t keep them but sent them forth intending them to go to The Winter Queen, but unaware to Elune they went to the Maw instead.
One thing that stuck with me from Elune speaking is how tired she sounded. My running theory is that Elune has learnt how to tap into the power of belief and worship akin to how Loa do. With devotion to her spread over much o the mortal plane and often being culture wide, this has given her the power to do some things other Deities cannot do, but it comes with a cost—She is trying to pay attention to who knows how many devotees at the same time, while not being actually omnipresent. On top of that, as the the being responsible for the renewal of life after it slumbers in Ardenweald, she is incredibly overtaxed as she tries to keep life going after what the Legion did to the Mortal Plane.
While trying to do all she is doing she senses her estranged sister is in trouble and tries to help be revoking the wisp blessing amid Teldrassil’s burning. She instead puts everyone into a deep slumber in which no pain would be felt, thinking they would next awake in Ardenweald.
Why can’t Elune just be a farsighted - competent deity? These permanent attempts of explanation that have come up since cinema ala “can Elune do this, can Elune not do that” didn’t exist in the past to the extent…
