I saw Bill Nye on TV once, I’m a scientist.
You do know the DoD is the largest employer in the world, right? I’m no fan of American empire, and grew up in an extremely anti-war family, but the poor and working class people for whom the military offers one of the few conduits left for social mobility in the US? You’re directing you anger at the wrong people, dude. Blame the people who give the orders, not the people who take them.
One minute they say Twinks are ruining the game for everyone, particularly new players.
The next, that low-level Battlegrounds are inconsequential, a means to gain easy experience.
Just had a 30 minute que time in the 111-119 bracket and as a 116 got my butt kicked mercilessly and couldn’t even do anything against anyone over my level even with their being no twinks…
So with this update I get ques that are 20 minutes longer and result the exact same. It’s almost as if twinks weren’t even the issue and people complaining about things that happened regardless blamed twinks for everything…
Imagine that.
At this this point it’s been said hundreds of time but if you have such a “huge” population then these changes should be welcome as you can now play against and with people with similar tastes…
But that’s not what you want is it, the community knows that you enjoy steamrolling casual players the same as a 120 going to leveling areas / legion invasions and killing low lvl toons.
We understand this is how you feel powerful and our “huge” community are more than happy for this change.
Good change blizzard. There are tons of people leveling allied races right now that are having a lot more fun in bgs than they used to.
Maybe they’ll try it at max now!
Yep. Nothing has really changed.
This is not true. I played WoW up to level 60 before the 1st expansion ever came out. I played my 60 and spent many hours over a course of a year or so grinding out gear etc.
Then they released an expansion and all my stuff was worthless. I quit, never looked back until recently when my wife wanted to play with kids and grandson. But I will not be going back to their carrot on a stick grind, so I’m just looking for low level fun where I don’t have to worry about gear and such all the time.
I don’t even have a “real twink”, I just have heirloom gear on most of my characters, and on a couple of them I bought enchants.
So no, that’s not why I play lower levels.
I do want better gear than everyone, but that’s at any level. Who doesn’t? Are there people out there looking at gear and saying “nah, this will make me too powerful”. Just taking a basic fact that applies to everyone and claiming it’s the reason is lame.
I reached level 80 and turned my experience off. Thus, I suppose that makes me a twink. Thing is, I don’t do PvP at all. I stopped my xp because I was leveling too fast and I’m stopping to smell the roses… err max our my BC/WOTLK content consumption.
It’s one thing to have two different queues (which I don’t agree with, as someone that doesn’t PvP but would like to try it out and get into it), but for those of you wanting Blizzard to totally turn the option to freeze xp off? That’s just beyond selfish. Turning experience gain off has uses and a purpose outside of PvP. I like being able to stop my growth so I can thoroughly enjoy a zone, continent, or whole expansion.
This is the truth, the Twink Community will never admit that they twink so they can stomp undergeared lowbies into the ground. Sad way to get their jollies imo.
There’s been posts made by twinks who want fair fights, but they get slammed by… Well, I have no evidence, but I can’t not assume it’s twinks who don’t.
LOL is this a Joke? I made a new toon to level to 120 and said hey after 30 dungeons and 20 quest let me hop in a BG and see if my team will put up a good fight. Not let me drop 30k to win one bg for enchants, gems and gear. With the gear I had on which look pretty good for the stuff i picked up “got trashed”. Not even being able to move out the graveyard and there was like 5 twink camping. The game ended because most of my team just left with in the first 5 min.
Why or how would you think this is fair? should everybody have to turn off exp and gear out a toon so you can win a bg? I mean come on a level 30 BG of all things. The game is broken when something like twinks sitting in a BG farming kills. New players? They don’t have money to twink or even know what the hell is going on most the time. As long as you can find a exploit, Hack, cheat or a scam it is blizzards fault for not fixing it, but then when they fix it you come crying.
No, but you quoting one single sentence completely out of context is.
the twink topic is mute…….why? because next xpac the level cap will be 50 and all twinks will be useless…sad but true
Twink players always talk about how “it was fair though! both sides had twinks” but this isn’t about the match being fair between teams. It’s about whether it’s fair between twinks and non-twinks and it most certainly is not. The “fun” of twinking has near always been in vastly overpowering an opponent who is otherwise helpless. It’s entire appeal is essentially the same as griefing.
Or, you know, the point of getting gear in the first place. Don’t like it? Get better gear. Don;t want to? Then don’t complain. The entitlement is absurd. If you are bad at PvP, then it does not matter what gear someone has, they have an advantage built in…Nothing is fair, in life or in games, get used to it.
There is no means to outgear a twink in your level bracket without yourself turning off leveling and becoming a twink. A standard player, especially a new player, cannot possibly keep up with twink gearing in every level bracket as they level up.
First, prove to me that new players exist, I’m not sure I buy it.
Are you making the claim that there isn’t a single new player in the whole world? I’m sorry but THAT is the extraordinary claim that needs to be backed up, not the presupposition that a new player is likely to exist.
My point was half joking, but it stands. I would be willing to bet that not more than 5% of all players in this game are “new players”. Maybe returning, but not new. Take that made up number (which like I said, i’m willing to be isn’t that far off) and tell me how many are in a particular battleground at any given time.
Are you saying that is how the game should be tailored? To 5% of the population or so? A population that most likely will not even kill a normal geared leveling toon?
