Nah, actually. People were tired of getting told they can’t join BGs in average leveling gear and that they need to twink before they join BGS, people were tired of getting into BGs only to face twinks that they literally couldn’t kill no matter how well they played.
I have always claimed that a majority of people being bad at PvP is the reason for the change. They complain because they get beat, but a lot of the time it’s not even a twink, just a skilled player. Many people who support the change have stated on these forums that they stopped doing BG’s long ago while leveling because they got destroyed, but then they claim to know what is going on in said BG’s. Now how is that possible if they were not even IN THE BG?
The people that complain do so because they feel they are better than they actually are, and so when they lose they assume it was only because of gear. And that is not simply relegated to PvP, it is all over this game and it is obvious.
Nah, it’s pretty easy to tell the difference of a twink vs average player especially when they have double or triple your HP pool; and there’s literally nothing you can do vs them to land a kill no matter how bad they play. Generally you even just die in a couple hits vs them anyways.
And is irrelevant to the vast majority of points and existence of this thread. Yes.
Generalizations. I have played this game since Vanilla, and i have NEVER once seen anyone claim that players needed to twink in order to enter any BG. Also, I have seen BG’s the whole time as well, and I have never seen the prevalence of Twinks that are supposedly around according to the anti Twink crowd. On the one hand, you make fun of them for not being able to have a queue under 45 minutes, and on the other hand you claim they were just ROFLstomping every BG, so which is it? Is it a large community, or it is just a few people that can’t even get their own queue rolling?
I see it all of the time, from twinks. You can look through this thread and have people tell me that, or look in the other threads about twinks I’ve posted in from the BG forums.
This is one of the contradictoty arguments that’s also been presented by twinks.
So given the circumstance, seems equally irrelevant, which matches my earlier points made.
Calling something irrelevant does not just magically make it so. The points are ALL relevant because they are all part of the reason for the change.
I haven’t made that argument. We do not have enough people to support our own queues. As stated previously, I would play my twink far more if that weren’t the case, because full twink BGs are an absolute riot. And organizing twinks across brackets just isn’t practical, as most who twink do so casually (i.e. in addition to max level content). Numerous people, though, have offered solutions, e.g. lowering the required number of people for XP-off BGs (i.e. letting us play on smaller teams).
I’m going to have to disagree.
People being bad is not relevant regarding a change made about the purpose of their core value of “fairness”. If you want to argue whether or not abusing the system is fair, be my guest, but that’d be wasting your time.
It’s an effective abuse, a solution and work around was instated. For all intents and purposes it excelling in all ways except one. And that one has nothing to do with the system.
As regarding my earlier points, I will say this much in fairness. You have some reasonable points here that i don’t disagree with, and it’s good to see the kinds of forward thinking and discussion that hasn’t been bogged down by others making the contradictory arguments.
I don’t have any inherent interest in twinks not having reasonable queue times. I’m just only going off my observations as of this thread.
And I Have no dog in the game so to speak for defending Twinks, But I feel like they are now being unfairly demonized, and mostly by people that admittedly don’t even PvP much. This proves that they are simply jumping on the bandwagon. I mean, put it this way, prior to past week when the change was made, how many “Twinks are ruining PvP” threads were on the forums? And now everyone and their brother is acting like twinks were the Antichrist.
By technicalities you don’t pvp much either.
That I also won’t disagree with, since I have no effective knowledge of current pvp trends.
I also can’t say it’s surprising, to be fair. It’s a very specific niche that exists to, intentionally or otherwise, squash the uninitiated and unprepared. It’s going to see flak, warranted or otherwise. Hopefully the twink community continues on in ways that aren’t mirrored by some outspoken players here who did not put good faces on for their arguments.

There’s a universe of difference between ‘not trying’ and ‘literally getting the mathematically best gear for a given bracket’…
Why are people on these forums so, so bad when it comes to grey areas? Not everything is so black and white.
The above is true…
At any level you turn it off and beef up.
All the current issue is level your new Races and have fun without the headache of the best making it not fun for you.
You can still DG just not PvP…
Come on the companies trying to make happy campers.
I think I’ve already explained why this is absurd. As someone who does literally that, because I’m an insane PvP gremlin.
I don’t even for a second think anyone else should, and especially don’t agree that they should feel compelled to do so, it’s unreasonable, and frankly boring as heck to do every bracket.
As I said many times before, the problem is that twinks have the luxury to only have to do it once, and entirely at their leisure. Expecting your average someone to do it 11 times over just for the mere privelege of existing for more than 2 seconds is kind of absurd.
I don’t think many twinks are actively looking to ruin other players’ good time. Personally, I want to win matches; I don’t find losing fun. I especially enjoyed matches with twinks on the opposing team, because then I could play double-duty: help with the objectives, and keep my teammates safe from getting blown up. I suppose I just don’t spend a lot of time thinking about the other team, because I’ve always focused on my own. Most situations are manageable, so long as people communicate and don’t waste time raging in chat (or fighting in mid). That may have been shortsighted, but it was never personal.
I get that people want fair fights. I just never really considered PvP in a game with gear capable of living up to that expectation. I’ve been blown up by twinks on non-twink characters, but usually didn’t give it a second thought. When they were on my team? All the better, since I generally fall into the category of leveler who wants to be done as fast as humanly possible.
People approach this game with very different expectations. And if Blizzard has decided that twinking results in an unfair advantage, okay. But give us an actual sandbox. We don’t need major changes, just bring back wargames and let us decide the size of our matches.
Reading is hard. Check the actually, nowadays they don’t.
I don’t know, the clean up crew job someone described sounds a bit rough.
That’s irrelevant. Are you bettering your country right now being over there? Done on the subject, because the answer is obvious.
