But my point I made days ago still stands. There were twinks before you could turn XP off, and there are still going to be twinks now. You are using a very narrow definition of what a twink is. It is very easy to get a twink without ever turning XP off, and so this solution will not stop Twinks, it simply give you the impression that they are gone, and so the complaining stops.
I don’t think the “Solution” was to try and impede players from creating a twink character so much as it was to redirect those players to their own bracket once more.
This whole “Players Twinked Before there was an Experience off bracket and they will continue to do so after” is a cop-out. I am pretty sure no one gave two craps about people twinking back in Vanilla or any other expansion for that matter.
What was a concerne for players “at least from what I’ve read” was the introduction of said twinks into the normal experience on brackets again. Which, “In my opinion” Blizzard is doing the right thing, and putting in place the experience off bracket once more.
Will that completely shut down people able to queue up in normal brackets why heck no, but it does curb it a little and that’s better than nothing.
I am all for people wanting to twink, go have at it with your buddies in your own queue once more where you can compete with those like minded individuals as your self.
Same now you get to twink what one game then you move to the next bracket and get your but kicked by the twink 9 levels higher than you before he levels out haha good times bg’s will be fun again.
Why wouldn’t it be? Time is money and how you decide to spend it is your business. Are you trying to suggest that it’s unfair to people who don’t buy gold? Because that is once again people complaining because others are rewarded for putting more effort into the game.
$20 is pocket change, or a day’s food, depending on who you are.
Just considering people in the US this is less than an average tip, or more than a meal for four.
So yes, if you believe that “fair” means having the same impact on a person’s real life vis-à-vis the game, the advantage from gold purchased, totally legitimately and within the Blizzard rules, is blatantly an unfair advantage.
What’s really silly is the people complaining about “twinks ruining everything” probably didn’t realize that most of the time people killing them weren’t even twinks.
In your average BG even at mid point level in the bracket you’re going to be considerably weaker than people near the later levels.
Next thing you know these whiners are going to say “Every level should have its own bracket!”
There’s a mountain of difference between a normal player and a twink that most people can tell the difference. Twinks deserve to be kicked out of normal BGs
I disagree. I think players need to stop being lazy and complaining about something that’s in their control to change.
The best reason I heard is people want to BG while leveling. BGs are notoriously the worst way to level outside of mining / herbing for XP…that combined with the fact that It’s really not hard to compete against twinks I think It’s just silly.
Not overly gearing yourself for a BG that isn’t even max level is “Being lazy”? Idk about that one, bud.
Twinks are just doing it so they can cleave through multiple people. The reason people become twinks is to become hard to compete against. I think you have your facts a little screwy.
You don’t even have to overly gear yourself, though. I’ve been alt leveling actively since vanilla across multiple characters and most of the time people say “so and so is a twink watch out” they’re not even a twink. They’re either a flavor of the month class, or the player is just badly geared / doesn’t know how to PvP.
I think people are just lazy and have make up excuses as to why they get killed in PvP.
I mean honestly, have you tried playing as a x1 in a bracket vs x9? The difference is crazier than your average player fighting against a twink, honestly.
I mean sure, some people will do this. But if a dude can take on 4 people at once and lose only half health before slaughtering everyone… I think it’s obvious. Most people can tell when a twink is a twink.
This allows balanced gearing, while not excluding some of the playerbase.
A little side note: I’ve been doing a lot of quests recently for fun, and have found that quest items are strong enough to rival a decked out twinks gear, like, it’s unbelievable the kind of stuff I’ve been seeing drop from some quests.
So now I’m questing to get those delicious purple upgrades for certain gear slots.
I agree but at most you’d only ever seen 4 twinks and surprisingly it was pretty even most of the time. I just think it was a non-issue. I’ve fought against twinks as a non-twinked and could kill them and if I couldn’t it inspired me to better gear my characters.
