The Spotting Eagle Is Actually Hilarious

Realistically, the eagle’s a brown blob you’ll never see because either the animations are not fully fleshed out yet, or they’re not firing. There’s no need to customize them if they go live as they are, because you’ll never see the thing. Which, goes contrary to their stated design goals.

No, they stated they want to put pets back into MM, not take it out. Their stated intent is the exact opposite of what you say it is.

I’m doing to wiki reading. Granted, I’ve just done a cursory skim across both of these but it doesn’t sound like it has anything to do with marksmanship or bow hunting. It seems to just literally be sending your pet bird to kill things for you.

It’s complicated.

They want to take pets out of the gameplay and put them back in the fantasy, at the same time.

Weird stuff lol

THey could of done it without removing regular pets from MM .

They just had to remove lust from the pets and the button they made for MM could of been given to all hunter specs and those that like pets as MM for open world would of been able to do so .

Also so what if you lose a brief moments of dps to pull the pet out to lust. Once it has happened dismiss pet , or are you upset that because you aren’t top deeps in your guild or pug group and the fact that someone did better then you upsets you that much .

It’s a team effort not a solo experience .

Seeing the angst makes me hopeful. The ones who wanted petless aren’t happy and people saying “i just want to customize this pet”. Almost like you wish you had a choice of pet/no pet and then what that pet looks like.

Like we have right frigging now.

When all it takes is moving 1 little button/spell from the pet and moving it to the hunter themselves and otherwise keeping it how it is right now would make every body happy.

Dont want a pet? Dont use one. Want a pet? Use one.

But everyone wanting the ones who want to keep the pet to be unhappy, didnt stop to think that they were having a pet they have no control of to be forced on them.

I’m assuming people in that camp are those who actually like their pets, but they use lone wolf obviously because it is higher dps in group content. It seems like blizz are making the assumption that most MM players don’t use a pet because they specifically like the petless marksman idea, without actually considering the fact that using a pet does less damage. That is obviously going to skew the numbers a lot. Yes there are plenty of people who do love the lone wolf concept, but there are also plenty of people who, once they finish their M+ for the night, will call back their best little buddy and go have an adventure together.

Off topic but the WW Monk’s new skill animation is a joke, they just slapped Rogue’s Feint on it with some visuals and called it a day.

Rogue(At least Outlaw) is in dire need of new animation itself… :woman_facepalming:

Remember when Blizzard made it so you had to have a book in order to tame flying pets?
That was Legion, iirc.

I never got that book.

So maybe Blizzard could make the eagle available to only those who’ve gotten that book in Legion.

That’ll fix everything.

I’ll just delete my hunters now.

Personally I’d love it if they went back to combat but kept the grapple for rogue, without a cooldown too.

I’d probably go back to maining a rogue again if they did that.

I don’t want a pet or any imagery of a pet. Keep the affect and remove the visual of a bird and I’m fine. Keep it the way it is “right friggin now” and I’m fine. If I have to look at a bird though, it would be nice to look at something that I don’t find ugly.

Wouldn’t really work, the eagle is a spell effect, not a proper pet model.

What if I want to do this as bm or surv? I never knew some mm players were so entitled.

MM works with no pet as it’s main weapon or arsenal is it’s Range Weapon. The Eagle is just a passive buff to improve/amplify damage. What you see are special effects. We can pretend the eagle is not there.

It would work on dungeons or raid.

What doesnt work for me is on Delves where i really need a Pet especially on its hardest difficulty. Switching to BM would be a big hassle.

And an active spell to stun enemies.

And an active spell to cause Bloodlust.

I wouldn’t say “pretending it’s not there” is an acceptable strategy to deal with character fantasy.

Like, I’m not going to stop asking Blizz to add Naga to the game just because I could roll a Night Elf and pretend to be a Naga.

The only entitled ones are the people who want to take away from others when there is no need to do so.

If you like bm or sv, play that. MM should REMAIN an option for everyone. As well as an option for a pet or not.

Ok, I want the option to play bm and surv without a pet.
I want the option to play bm with a melee weapon
I want the option to play survival with a ranged weapon
I want the option to play survival with two pets

Why is mm the special spec? It should fill a niche that the other two don’t and that is without a pet.

I never did legion, but you could have flying pets all the way up to Cata. I remember owls being OP in dungeons as it was one of the few pets with a default AoE ability.

Imagine not wanting them to take away something from marksman makes them entitled.

All hunters have pets.
All hunters are designed around using a pet.
MM still has and uses a pet. That has not changed.

This is so confusing because the whole theme of the class is man of the wild and his beast companion. That is first and foremost the hunter class theme. Then comes the guns, bows and melee weapons.

Hence all the aspects of the cheetah, the fox or whatever. I haven’t played hunters in a long time because it seems they just want them to be rangers instead of wild men.
