The Spotting Eagle Is Actually Hilarious

Not clickbait at all. Thing is so silly to see.

Nah. Just let you pick any bird-of-prey family pet at the stables.

Just make a glyph where the bird takes on the appearance of any Bird of Prey or Carrion Bird type pet in your first pet slot.

If no pet is there, or any other type of pet is there it gets the default eagle appearance.

stop feeding them.

An incredibly asinine change no matter how you look at it.

MM literally has the petless option NOW, currently, in game.

This change ensures my MM will be basically shelved for now on. Sad because MM was one of my favorite class/specs in the game.

Those hunter animation looks nice, I like them.

Imagine this in an Epic Battleground with 10 hunter on each side.

It would be nice if we could change the little flying hawk to different birds, like crows or owls. Maybe even bats or bees. Perhaps through inscription glyphs.

If it has to be this way, with the little bird, a smidge of customization would help some deal with it.

this whole eagle/marksman thing is so small of a change the only thing hilarious about it is how much people are talking about it.

that being said, I’m on the list of people who would prefer a crow over an eagle.
i love crows, ever since I’ve been playing hunter I’ve always had a good crow pet.

In real life i always stop to say hello and wave at crows or feed them something when I can.

I think they’re one of the most common, intelligent and beautiful birds out there.

How so? It’s a massive change to a class and it’s on the ptr. Why would people not be talking about it?

We do agree on that. Say what you will about the class changes, crows are just a better bird than eagles.

If only. But. Trolls will be fed and if you tick them off, they’ll suggest going BM or Surv.

speaking in terms as a combat ally, eagles are the far superior bird by far.
stronger, bigger, better equipped, better looking.

crows are just my personal preference.

i feel like a crow would be more friendly and chill where as an eagle would be all buisness.

people train crows to scout and retrieve small items in exchange for praise and food.

eagles arent like that. I think they train eagles as attacker types to clear areas of pests

I would take a Phoenix pet over an Eagle ANYDAY.

Yeah, but in this new MM design they aren’t engaging in combat.

Hey now, let’s not say something we’ll regret!

Dude…

You were not wrong. The Eagle looks incredibly garbage fire.

ffs I hope they don’t disregard my MM Hunter thread. This is just incredibly sad on so many levels.

Yeah, it’ll sit next to my frost mage and unholy dk, two classes I used to enjoy and barely touch anymore. Class fantasy has been worse and worse since Legion.

Gen Z eagle.

I get eagles were a thing in Legion with the Hunter’s Lodge, and if it was still Legion it might make sense. However now it just feels like they slapped it in as a place holder.

For a bare minimum effort they could have it change based on your Hero spec. If you are Dark Ranger it is a spectral crow or something that fits thematically. If you are Sentinel it is a spirit owl like Dori’thur.

Now this is a novel idea! What if the hunter wanted more than one pet… maybe they could keep the ones that aren’t active somewhere. Hmm… how might that work? In a stable maybe?

Worst case scenario that place holder feels permanent.

Nah, they would just keep all their pets in their pocket just like how Link stuffs all his equipment in his pocket in Zelda.

Especially that big gigantic ball and chain from Zelda: Twilight Princess.
