That is tje only content that keeps its relevancy over the years.
Raid tiers are useless when the next come, but looks are eternal. You can still looks dope witch classic and tbc pices of armor.

Sorry to trigger you mate. It’s a valid OPINION, as I stated in the comment, not much of an argument, unless you want to take it that way. An MMO will never be a single player game at its core, unlike Elder scrolls for instance, hence my opinion. It’s just different genres.
solo farming has always been popular even in the old days.
all the people who solo grinded winterspring for the hunter quest and the pets and mounts.
all the people who solo grinded STV and gadgetstan for whatever god forsaken reasons.
all the people who solo grinded old school rep for the achievements.
there is a lot of solo content to be enjoyed.
that said - i do not need top tier raid level epics to enjoy the solo content.
i just need to be geared enough to survive in the wild against lvl 60 and 61 rares and elites. i’d LOVE to be able to solo level 62 elites but that’s getting a big greedy.

There was a time when WoW was very friendly to the casual solo player. LK and Cata are the perfect examples. Even MoP, after that, it was all downhill and continues to go downhill.

Gear advantage is the worst excuse in the world. This char used to be an alt and I got to 1600 RBGs in about 6 hours total? Before I even got a PvP trinket set, actually. I was about 16% vers… That’s most of your gear instantly upgraded to 213 for bothering to try for a few hours a week. The groups I joiend were also peppered with 200 ilvl alts. It was so easy to gear, I don’t know what else to say… I guess other than the obvious, WoW is an MMO not just a pvp game. Of course you’ll have a slight disadvantage for not playing the other parts of the game but there are alts doing arenas in 200 ilvl gear absolutely ****stomping people so the problem is somewhere between the keyboard and your chair, not the game

I’ve been screaming this for a while. For a few expansions at least LFR gave us somewhat competitive gear. Now LFR drops gear lower than world quests and we have no way to really to make up the difference.
Right now I login, do the Calling, log out. Maybe farm an old transmog set. Stuff like that. There is just no content to keep us engaged and no goals we can set. It is really pretty frustrating.

To say that it’s “downhill” is way too personal (irrelevant) as it’s just your opinion. I like how it is now, and you don’t. In the big picture that means nothing. Earning calls however shows a higher than normal active players for the period of the expansion, that does mean something, Blizzard is finally doing something right!
Ya but the post I was replying to said we should be playing in groups because that’s the definition of an MMO. Transmog farming SOLO is arguably the most popular “content” in wow, the opposite of multiplayer

this is why my old school mats still sell at top prices. 
there is an item or two that are very popular on my server that sell for more than eternal crystals - and sell pretty quickly.
the transmorg market is alive and well.

I’m a solo player. I’m 203 at the moment.
I tried the PvP route early on, but after a week of utter failure and no progress, I gave up. Doesn’t how good (or not) I am, if you never win the event, it’s an absolute black hole of time to gear up through PvP. And that week, I was not able to luck in to any winning groups. I was in a single winning BG out of the 6 I queued for.
I run my own M+ groups. I just stuff them in the group finder, wait for folks to show up, eyeball their iLevel and bring them in. 50% of the keys fail, but the vault doesn’t care. My goal is 4 M+ per week, my key was 6 last night, and got knocked down to 5. I will make another one today at somepoint.
I was actually stunned to discover that I got a mission table adventure that had a potential upgrade for me. I might even beat it! That hasn’t happened in a long time.
Other than that, callings, dailies, sojourns in to the Maw and TC are keeping me busy.

My advice to you would be join some YOLO rated battlegrounds in the group finder. It’s basically the same thing your doing now only with the potential of better gear and it doesn’t require the skill that arenas do. I’ve gotten to 1600 easily without any voice chat and like 4-5 losses.

I am a longtime Solo PvP player and I’ve recently returned to WoW after a very long break. A few weeks in and I feel that I’ve basically been given 190+ gear. It’s been a fairly simple progression thus far but I realize that will change.
In regards to gear difference in Random Bg’s, I feel your pain. My first week back, I tried some Bgs and quickly found them unenjoyable. This was due to the insane burst damage that I was taking. As a result, I have avoided my beloved Bg’s with the exception of the 4 win weekly quest.
In closing, I’ll say that I agree there needs to be better pathways for solo players to obtain higher end PVP gear…competitive honor gear was done in past expansions and there really was no reason to move away from that model.

Game is hemo’ing subscribers. Game will soon die. I’m not providing a source. Just wait for Q1 call and realize my truth. Or, you know, take a look at your friends list. Oriole who haven’t quit already for better products aren’t doing anything but socializing.
