This is basically confirmed for 9.1.
its really a shame, Classic got me to play retail but it just can’t scratch the same itch when they don’t even heed the lessons from their own progenitors
In vanilla I distinctly remember watching Rogues 100-0 glad geared players while naked because of base number scaling.
The mathematics in the current game are what makes it feel like such a slog. The messy percentage scalings everywhere along with class homogenization and the implementation of best practices means everything blends together into the absolute antithesis of the suspension of disbelief.
If everything can be solved with a numbers puzzle then why have a player at all?
100% true.
People also forget that endgame dungeons in Vanilla were NOT just for level 60s. Most had a level range of 55-60 (funny thing is if you watch the original videos of WoW’s devs, raids had level ranges like EQ too - say 55-60)
If I could run - and I say run not be carried - as a level 55 in a dungeon, it means I dont need Raid level gear to complete it. And I can get some amazing gear from it, not just vendor trash like in current normals and heroics
Careful, the next phase is going back to Classic - at least thats what I did after doing exactly what you did. I have 2 just bought 6 months subs and I have no plans to play Retail
Only difference is I stopped raiding at the end of Cata.
Buddy convinced me to give Classic another go. We’re lvling a Pally and Warrior together. It’s a lot more fun because it’s slower.
Cool man!..
Yeah man, soloing should be equally advantageous as the other facets of the game.
Let me solo my gear to ‘mythic’ proportions!!
yeah I hate raiding and pvp, i’m strictly an adventure who just enjoys exploring , crafting and collecting… there is very little left for me to do in the new expansions but, I love the art team , love the new models, customization and I love seeing what new zones and designs they come up with , it’s just a shame that the developers don’t give a crap about that sort of thing and only cater to raiders and mythic+ types. I wish they would just separate the game for the two different types of players at this point. I enjoy seeing others running around and I do help when i can, and enjoy coming together to take down a world boss once and awhile but, I don’t seek others out to play with directly, I’ve always been that way, besides most of the players now don’t give a crap about the adventure anyways, it’s just about the end content for them, which blows IMO.
I’ve been hating this game so much since BFA. I thought the community was growing more and more toxic but recently realized its always been this way. I just havent been strong armed into forced group content on this scale before so i just wasn’t as aware of it. My guilds are decimated. My friends are gone. I’m stuck pugging stuff 24/7 while the remaining players berate me all day for not being as caught up as them.
This game sucks. I’m already back to farming old content. Im closing in on 25k achievement points so soon enough I really wont have anything to do and saying that will not be an exaggeration.
You can literally play the game without a guild.
Just pug M+ and do RBGs and you get maxed iLvl without even needing to raid.
WOW! Unfortunately Blizzard has created this expansion to please the few streamers they think keep the game running. Majority of people could give a hoot about streamers or twitch! They just want to play a fun game, Blizz has jumped the shark!
I don’t want to do M+ thats not fun or engaging for me, RBGs sound great but I cannot find group mostly because they want achievements , need the proper covenant, proper conduit choices, and need to be the appropriate class and spec!
Thats not fun, thats a job! ll I wanted was to earn my Random BG gear and play randoms against other players with the same gear until next expac.
But the people with guilds and friends, and pvp buddies all have 220+ gear now, so I cannot do randoms anymore and be effective.
Man, this. The gatekeeping to high end content is so very real.
I’m 67 that makes me queen of the lawn.
Clark, the problem here is that a lot of us my age (and I can speak for myself and others my age, because my age group predates the PC nonsense that is the world today) do not view “voice communication over a video game” as an opportunity for friendship.
I mean… how REAL can a friendship be when its nothing but online, and with no common ground but likely speaking the same language while playing a game… That isn’t the grounds for healthy human relationship growing. Thats actually quite sad (judgemental or not) to be honest.
I couldn’t tell you the real name of any person I’ve played a video game with (that I didn’t know from real life before hand), nor would I want to know them with only a VIDEO GAME as the basis for the relationship. Sounds like someone needs to get outside.
Im soloing in TBC classic now on a lock. Its mostly me standing there killing mobs occasionally travelling to turn in quests and take out more. Thats it.
Now as awful as that sounds in text…its actually more rewarding and fun than doing SL systems. Its certainly different, and less action packed…actually its chill and thereputic.
Often i can run dots while my pet tanks and auto attack, which allows my hands to type text to others and socialize which adds to the fun.
Now i am in no way suggesting to have this be the end all be all of pve progression content but…just saying…its not bad under the old loot system and combat.
I feel there needs to be chill relaxing content in mmorpgs that allow for the social interaction to occur. That doesnt happen when i try to clear the days allowence for progression with three of the SL systems…its gogogo i dont have that kinda free time and the faster i clear that crap the fast i might find something i actually want to do.
I agree.
I decided not to raid or even do dungeons in this expansion. I play mostly solo, grouping only for a world boss or a quest with elites, or maybe the occasional blind invite I may receive. I always try to get the best gear that I can for what I do, and knew that I would eventually hit a wall where I could not progress further. I am absolutely fine with that. Since I don’t do high-end content, I don’t need high-end gear.
The people/strangers outside are as random as the new people you’ll meet in game. Im not sure why you think it’s sad to make new friends in game to play with, and maybe even get to know them well for a long lasting friendship.
Between the wait, the issue dodging, and of course getting screwed for being solo, Blizzard has effectively told me to go screw myself, so I returned the favor. Quitting WoW in the past was quite hard, but SL has made it far easier.
Damn… I thought it was just me. But look at all these likes.
It’s not that I want to play alone or that I don’t want to be on Discord.
It’s just that I don’t want to play with or be on Discord with toxic juvenile douchebags.
