My friend and I were talking about this the other day after he brought it up. I’m still when I see these players in high rated gear running around in random BGs. I don’t see where the fun is in not getting an equal challenge in playing against people that match your gear.
I just hate that because the economy sucks so bad that I am still running WoW on a toaster that would burst into flame if I set foot in SL. lol I suppose it was inevitable that Blizz would update the game, but it still sucks.
agree that a solo player has a huge disadvantage in pvp due to gear and it really shouldn’t be that way
in pve it doesn’t matter except that the solo player gear grind ends pretty quickly
I don’t care if the game has gear parity or not, Most players think they’re limited by gear but it’s often not the case, gear would probably open their eyes a little bit.
I find it sincere ignorance for people like you to assume players that don’t do Arena are bad players!
There are many people that are amazing at pvp that just don’t like pillar humping death matches!
Stereotype more opinions!
great, then by your assertion raiders don’t need better gear as it isn’t holding them back
it would probably open their eyes a little bit
I didn’t know SWTOR was even still going. I just tried to recover my account but failed due to no longer having my security code fob and their support service seems to be non-existent. It sent me an article that showed buttons that were not on the login menu anymore lol.
I d/l the game the other day and logged into my account and started playing my Assassin I was blustered by the amount of buttons, spells and changes to the game I killed a few things and logged out.
To play again I would have to start a lvl 1 and relearn how to play again!
That might be kind of fun. I heard you can level to 50 just doing class quests now and those were the best part of the game.
That’s already in, you can get it next patch
I started in a PvP realm because I love PvP games. Well, I DID love pvp games until WoW, lol.
Being killed with ZERO chance of winning…yeah…that ISNT PvP and anyone who says it is is completely deluded.
In REAL PvP games who dies comes down to skill and a little luck…NOT who farms gear the longest and who logs in the most.
Once i realized that camp ganking lowbies was a trashy thing in this game, i moved to a PvE server.
Warmode allowed me to move back to the realm I wanted to be on in the first place and not have to deal with kiddies with nothing else to do because content is lacking and theyre too afraid to go PvP against equally abled characters/players
SWTOR Story was amazing, best I ever experienced.
Thank you for speaking up for us the silent casuals!
and +34 Speed. Not sure what that would do but I want one.
Great post, the gap does seem greater in terms of pvp this expac as opposed to previous ones, though I still am not sure if that is due to the bursty meta or the gear itemization
I don’t think the gear gap needs to be an impossible wall you can never hope to overcome, but the advantage should be distinct and realistically you should lose to them outside of a class advantage.
Yes and no. I think the gear advantage should be really one of time only. People who do “harder” contents should get better gear - of course. But this advantage should not be permanent. Over time, there should be a way for casuals to also acquire gear - it should just take longer. So maybe, a few months into an expansion gear levels should equalize.
The problem just each patch resets gear now more than ever. If you’re a casual who plays for a few months and says ok cool saw LFR, saw the leveling, saw the dungeons, saw the crafting, the lore, etc a lot of people decide to take a break until a new patch comes out because they know in the next patch 226 gear is gonna be handed out like candy.
But I also disagree. If you cap out on content you should cap out on ilevel. A way to keep progressing your gear is fine in the way of like having Valor and upgrades, but that also means mythic raiders and arena PvP players are also upgrading their gear.
It’d also be fine if we had badge vendors that gave pretty top end/competitive rewards but outside the final patch of an expac you shouldn’t be able to realistically fully gear yourself with it and be up there for doing easy content. In TBC we had a vendor that high end rewards and people largely used that for good weapons to do harder content and patch up unlucky item slots. That’s fine, but a full badge vendor you can acquire by casually doing M0s and LFR would be dumb design.
People who do “harder” contents should get better gear
People who are willing to play with an automated LFR system are taking a bigger chance We need automated Mythic grouping, not at the mercy of power-trippers who rush content like a speed race.
I assume it increase you run speed by a certain percentage maybe 1 or 2%
I hope so. I want to try it. Apparently drops in mythic Nathria as a rarity.
