The Socket Coding Bug Finally Explained

Agreed. Really huge bug. .6ILvl loss. Can’t even imagine how bad that is for someone at iLvl 485. Must be a huge drawback for sure.

It was and that is why it needed to be fixed

It was a huge draw back for anyone that used sockets and it greatly impacted their performance in a negative way. So players of all levels now can actually have gems do what they were intended to do now.

Guess you like bumping the thread? Anyways

#RemoveScaling
#SaveShadowLands

Absolutely. Everyone in this game is rolling with full set of socketed gear so this must be huge! Playing without socket buffs is almost impossible. Almost game breaking.

Thanks for the bump

It’s huge because even you with your 1 socket…you can now use that socket since the bug is fixed. Before the bug fix you had to remove the gem in it so you didn’t receive a negative debuff. It’s really good to be able to actually use the gear you do have.

So you are welcome

What is game breaking is the system of scaling itself. No one wanted it and it will never work in an RPG game. These failed systems go against the core design and it’s a lie to the players.

#RemoveScaling
#SaveShadowLands.

It doesn’t. Not even a .00000001 addition to item level. Corruption is by far more impactful than a socket and by now with resist you can have it on almost every piece of gear. It isn’t even close. Sockets make a very minor difference compared to it yet have pretty significant downsides.

Blizzard implemented this scaling system before corruptions came out, so it’s not surprising they didn’t account for them.
