Bad math from blizz so youâd get tons of mmr for 4-2 or better and that mmr gain meant you could kind of coast on 2-4/3-3 most games and still climb.
this isnt the case though, more people lose 0 rating than lose rating, in blitz.
I think you played too much healer, when you think 3-3 is the average or when you think the average BBG guy has a better winrate!
They inflate the MMR around 8-15 mmr per week. This happened in dragonflight as well. the average mmr for the entire ladder goes from 1500 to ending around 1800 MMR. this means at the end of the season at least half the players will get 1800 transmog set. If you are good you can get 1800 the first week. donât expect it so early and just play to improve.
They definitely did because after DF s1 shuffle never even came close to the ratings people got during S1. And that is not because of participation either (more people got glad in s2 than s1). The drop off from s1 to s2 was insane, participation did not die off so badly that we went from 3.8k rating in shuffle to 2.7k, almost a 1k rating difference. Making it closer to 3s was a bad idea for shuffle imo.
Eh, maybe after, but it really shouldnât have happened in Crimson. You canât just give people 500+ free mmr in a mode thatâs much more readily accessible and provides all the generic rewards.
If it never happened at all then yeah but changing it after it already happened feels kinda bad imo.
And while I dont disagree with what you said, I think its very very odd they kneecapped shuffle and then allowed blitz to get up to 2.8k second week of the season. Itâll probably end closer to where shuffle did in DF s1. At that point, I would just remove whatever they did to shuffle mmr as opposed to kneecapping blitz. They cant let this be the very first player experience with this system only to say âyeah well youâre never getting to that rating again and now pushing up will be harder every seasonâ.
I think if we want more people in pvp they just need to leave it and then probably uncap shuffle or fix whatever they did. Its possible maybe adding a unique reward to hitting 2.4k in 3s (not glad, just something for actually hitting 2.4k) and then adding a reward in between 2.4k and r1 (2.6 maybe?) for 3s would help keep that bracket unique at least in terms of rewards.
Imagine we go into season 2 and Blitz MMR looks like Shuffle MMR now.
Yeah people would just quit I think, or stop playing pvp. It happened to shuffle itâll happen here too if they did that. Imagine being in week 2 of the season and you are trying to hit 1800/1950 while vsing multi r1s lmao. These guys should be quite a bit higher by now if they want people playing the game, at least in the mode thats randomized/q based.
They canât let the introduction to this system be like âhey you can push up super high and still be playing with people at your skill level while the best in the game are at 2.6k+ alreadyâ and then turn around and say ânope you canât do that anymore, youâll be vsing mglads and heros/warlords/r1s the first few weeks of the season now because they cant push up until later!â. This just heavily incentivizes sitting on rating/mmr you get early.
Worst case I think just adding a few more unique rewards to the non solo brackets would be fine.
Thatâs what most likely will happen. The thing with blitz is you legitimately never lose points. You just always go up.
