The shuffle mmr cap

Currently the highest players in shuffle are 2200~ despite being the most popular PvP mode by a large margin. Why is blizzard neutering shuffle completely???

Is it the most popular based on rounds played or unique players concurrently queuing?

Neither.

Both actually. It is over 10k more unique players as of the first week. Watch the video before spreading misinformation

Kinda blew my mind that there are no Elite ranks in SS atm. Not even the best people in the world can get it atm.

Blizz loves kneecapping pvp.

This is your favorite kind of information though.

Shuffle ladder currently has 14196 unique players. Blitz currently has 18256. I don’t make the rules of math, friend. I just obey them. But that’s fine, I know you have a proud tradition of misrepresenting numbers.

It appears to be the most popular PvP mode in the API data, but has anyone considered the fact that it is possible that there might be a bug on the data for Blitz and there are far more players active in Blitz? Or cases where there might be far more players, but a minimum game count is required which would make a lot of players invisible in the Blitz API data.

checkpvp reflects the accurate numbers. Generally shows about twice as many blitz lobbies as shuffle lobbies being played.

I didn’t check the video, but agree it’s silly.

I’m pretty sure it’s largely due to the extremely vocal minority of 3v3 mains (specifically the ones that regularly push for gladiator, and even more specifically the ones that only get gladiator as the result of the really good players being over 3k+ cr) whining and arguing that due to how much easier it was to get mmr/rating in shuffle, that 3v3 participation was suffering, which caused them to be hardstuck duelist at 2200-2300 because they couldn’t consistently defeat the real gladiators/rank 1s who were peaking at around 2600-2700 relatively late in the season(s).

Blizzard listened to these people, so they neutered shuffle conquest gains and mmr. I imagine that it didn’t really change much for 3v3 participation though?

Maybe an extra few hundred people got their glad mount I guess, but at the expense of thousands likely quitting shuffle (and still not playing 3v3) due to the capped mmr on top of the already horrific queue times.

On the note of queue times, I’m waiting to see how long it takes for Blizzard to implement another healer incentivization, and if/when they do, how bad and poorly thought out it will be this time.

I can see it now, something like “50 extra gold and 50 more conquest for your alts from the boxes” or something like that. Maybe they will give healers a pennant reward lmao for 100 wins over 2k, that will surely get them fired up to queue.

Highly doubt it’s capped. Ppl aren’t pressing Q, with the illusion dropping to 1950 it makes sense that mmr is being throttled so hard at 2200. Ppl getting their illusion and stopping is holding alot of mmr hostage.

Also I’m so for it happening, trash bracket.

ah true, I forgot about that. I need to go check what the enchant looks like, I had forgotten it was 1950 lol.

Still think it’s capped though. They admitted to neutering the mmr in S2 of DF I think, and I don’t think they ever reverted that change?

It looks ok, not as good as the cool df one though.

actually both. its more games played than blitz by x5, more unique players than blitz and rated arena combined.

If I press q turtle activates.

This is what I’ve been saying. But everyone just exists in their own pocket universe where they’re always right. All signs point to this being deliberate and Blizzard actually making concessions to offset the curtailing of historically high MMR

A must get for Paladins, simply because Holy Fire

Actually scroll up and check sources yourself

im going off last weekish statistics not the last few days, before people stopped queing shuffle due to the mmr cap

Oh so you mean people stopped queueing so MMR isn’t going up?

That’s crazy. I wonder if that’s how MMR is designed to work. (It is.)

people stopped queing because theres an invisible wall, if you’re denying that rating inflation is lower in shuffle than current ranked arena or blitz, then idk what to tell you.

Show me proof of this.
