The ship is sinking, will you stay on board?

People been saying the ships been sinking for over 10 years now…

If the game is fun. Sure, why not. Right now I don’t think so. The pvp meta is a joke and mythic + is stale. Hard time finding regulars for raiding. Going to be working on my tan and read some books.

My forays back into WoW over the years have gotten shorter and shorter, with the visits met with nothing but increasing disappointment and disgust for the gameplay, lore and direction of the company. This is a sentiment shared by many long time players and these revelations about the working conditions at Blizzard are essentially a mortal kombat execution.

I’m not coming back to WoW. Already found another MMO I’m doing my best to main and if that falls through, I’m simply not playing MMOs anymore.

Maybe it’s just really shallow water? Kinda like “run aground in the shoals” kinda sinking?

And we added a slippery slide and bouncey house onboard. And maybe a free catering helm? :upside_down_face:

What is World of Warcrafts boat name I bet its the S.S. MoneyMaker9000

Quickly, you are on the ship S.S. MoneyMaker9000 and you see that Alex Afrasiabi drunkenly went overboard. What do you do?

WoW actually has no competition when it comes to…end game contents.

If I didn’t interest in raiding I would quit already.

do a 360 and dive into the ocean to save him

Same here. And I never thought I would say it. I never thought I would get to the point of where logging in and playing was just not fun anymore. There are so many reasons I can’t really list them because they have been listed so many times before me for sure.

I used to have fun when I logged on and could not wait till the time that I could. Now, I cancelled a while ago. I don’t miss it. For the first time since I’ve been playing, I don’t miss it. At first it was pretty weird feeling that way. Now, well sometimes I think about it but I just don’t log on. I was a lore buff but not now, not anymore. That part of the game is gone for me.

Its sad actually. But I have found other things to do now and I don’t even think its going to involve MMO’s at all. I guess there is a time for everyone to walk away and its my time I guess. I just thought that it would end so much more…spectacularly…or something. But it ended with just plain no interest anymore.

After years of play, fun, lore, stories, friends…that’s all gone. The fun is gone, the lore is so messed up it doesn’t make sense at all anymore, stories have become so not like stories more like silly garish renditions of how they used to be, and friends are all gone. So it goes I guess…but I have good memories of long ago, so it was all worth it in the end.

Ive been keeping my sub to casually play Classic/bc much like ive kept my sub on 14 just to keep up with the story, which i dont see changing.

The ship wont sink directly, its too much of a cash cow to leave to the gators. i could however see them selling it as an asset to another company.

but we’ll see, also you act like a boycott is going to effect those it needs to? sadly it will effect the victims first

Angry Joe, other Joe, and Alex said it best about remaining subbed to WoW during these times in their Youtube video today. If I could post it I would.

WoW and Blizzard accompanied the lives of so many young people as they grew into adults. It represented a constant in a changing world. It was a beacon of quality and I have many friends through WoW I met over a decade ago. Now, it is as you say, the friends list is almost always offline. Will they come back? I guess they wondered that about me when I’ve been gone for a long time too. But more and more, it feels people are leaving permanently.

The Carbot video here sums it up better than I ever could:
(1) This is World of WarCraft - YouTube

It took a lot to get me, a RPer/lore buff, to this point and that’s when you know the game is in trouble. I used to be a part of many realm events and got to know many guild masters/officers on both for the purposes of co-ordination - especially for RP-PVP campaigns complete with forums in character write ups. Every single one of these people on my battle.tag have not logged on in a long, long time and I myself was gone for 2 years prior to coming back this spring.

It feels like we’ve been robbed but there’s nothing to do about it but celebrate the good times that we had…and move on.

Perfect video for it. But that’s one thing no one can take away is the good times, the fun times, the BEST OF TIMES…I don’t think we will find that again. But in another venue, its possible. Just not this one anymore :disappointed:

im sure they are still working on it probably people taking things out of context as usual. unless all the employee’s go on strike which i haven’t heard of then im certain they are still working on content but probably at a slower rate and delegating more then usual.

as to whether i stay or not really is up to 2 things atm. 1. if i enjoy ff14 more then i do WoW; i have just started ff14 so i really can’t say 2. if the next expac doesn’t introduce player house or cross faction gameplay. i mean personally for me both things are way far over do already really is no point in not having them at this point especially the cross faction one.

Why would i jump?

  1. Game still fun to me
  2. So far WoW is the only MMO that get a fluid/smooth gameplay
  3. No over the top effects that can blind you if more than 3 people are with you.
  4. Thanks to tokens i have a looooooong time of subscription

And you think whales would stick around and keep paying for a dead game? As it is the world is dead.

I wish they would :frowning:

I will stick to the game. For everyone who hasn’t done anything but raiding, there is so much to discover, to do and enjoy with friends. If you truly enjoy the world of “Warcraft”, then settle down and just have casual fun. Go on adventures, stroll around, try to solve the secrets and do RP. I have done this with relatives and it was just amazing. It’s not about numbers, it’s about spending your time in a fantasy world.

The game is so much more than just raiding.

I absolutely support Blizzard and the people who tend to this game I love and have played for over 12 years.
I’m going to write my thoughts about this whole scandal, and random things. I rarely ever write on any forums, but this is important to me at least.
What I don’t support are the constant crybabies who have no lives who sit on this forum.
If you don’t like the game, for God’s sakes leave.
I’ll continue to play until I can’t anymore, or the game isn’t around anymore.
There are many like me.
Just for the sake of so much discussion about FFXIV, I subbed for a month to see if anything had changed from years ago when I tried it out.
I was bored to death after 3 hours. The colors of the landscape are drab and boring.
The people stand around and do nothing but show off their glam or have their anime drama.
Some here think Moonguard and Goldshire is bad for perversion. You should see some of the RP perverted crap that goes on in FFXIV on Balmung, and Mateus servers.

World of Warcraft Shadowlands is beautiful. The art is amazing. If the characters are a bit cartoony so what. I love my characters and am very attached to them.
There are very little barriers in the Wow’s world unlike FFXIV. The barriers there are ridiculous. Their world is tiny compared to Wow. They are afraid of someone falling off a cliff, or flying too high, or too far away. It’s really bad.
The mounts in FFXIV are boring, the animations suck. WoW mounts are mostly beautiful, have amazing animations.
Wow crafting system is much better. WoW Pvp is much better.
Wow’s dungeons and raids are much better.
Wow’s world is gigantic and bigger than any MMORPG I’ve ever played. It’s a blast doing old content for transmog, mounts, achievements.
There is always something to do in WoW.
FFXIV gets boring very quickly. It’s not alt friendly. Every alt you would make in the game from scratch you have to redo the story, redo quests to glam, get mounts, and anything else you want on that character.
There’s plenty of gold sellers and bots in that game, especially in their pvp.
There are toxic people there just like here.
I could go on and on, but I’ve made my point.
I don’t give a rip if Asmongold and Bellular are playing in FFXIV. That’s their prerogative.
It doesn’t mean that Blizzard’s WoW is bad. If you think for one minute some of the clothes and goods you buy don’t have scandal behind them, you’re wrong. There are so many companies who make so many products that consumers buy that have human tragedy behind it.
Blizzard isn’t alone in this stuff.
I’ve worked in Information Technology for over 23 years. I was in corporate setting before that.
Sometimes coworkers drank at work, harassed women, acted stupid, and yes it was like a frathouse at work. Women harassed men too and made sexual passes.
I’ve seen this stuff for a long time.
In the game I’ve seen even worse texting on the general and trade chat.
The bottom line is, Blizzard will go through a trial. Evidence will or will not be shown that they did or did not do what they are accused of.
When the trial is over the bad apples will be removed.
Blizzard will continue.
We will still be here for them.
I wish Blizzard the best of luck. There may be a small percent of bad actors, but I believe the majority of the devs who have worked their butts off, have given me and others like me a stellar game that we love.
For that I am truly grateful.
World of Warcraft has saved my life in more ways than one.
