The ship is sinking, will you stay on board?

It’s been mentioned in a few threads, based on what was quoted by a developer that development on WoW is basically dead in the water right now.

The future of retail WoW looks very dark and uncertain. It took them 9 months to release 9.1 after Shadowlands launched which most developers would blame on Covid, now that they have this giant mess to deal with, one can only imagine how long it will take for 9.2 to come out.

Personally I can’t continue to play an MMO that has no future, we all need to have something to look forward to. What about you guys, will you stick around playing the same 9.1 content for the next 12 months until 9.2 comes out? Will you continue to support Blizzard knowing that they won’t be prioritising their product or their customers anymore?

There are still some good people working on this game, so yes.

It’s been a few days since all this started. Days! Not even a week. That’s not going to cause any major delay. If it goes for weeks on end then it will, but right now no.

You guys are so dramatic. They’re not canceling WoW.

My money is going towards the decent developers who are working hard and the victims who had to deal with the abuse. Even though I’m currently taking a break from WoW (which I think most folks can easily understand), I will continue to play because the game provides entertainment.

Yes, right now WoW development has stopped. But that’s not a permanent thing. Once the developers have had time to handle everything and recover from this (and hopefully after many of the abusers have been kicked out of the company) then work on WoW will resume. We just need to be patient, and I’m more than happy to wait if it means that future content will be made without the grubby fingers of abusers all over it.

Very sad if this is your honest opinion. So sad that it seems like a troll post.

your lack of loyalty is the true sadness.

i’m seriously considering stopping my sub after seeing how just everyone in my group had reacted to all the news that had been happening as of late.

it’s really tempting, 15 plus tax is like a meal or a fifth of liquor to me.

Well I did unsub and refunded my D2R purchase. If they cleaned house and turn the ship around, I would resub. There’s still good people aboard the ship, but the bad ones needs to go.

Why would I be loyal to company that makes game worse for greed?

Was planning to come back for a future patch, but now not wanting that to take 8 more months makes me some kind of monster, so nope. Screw blizzard.

Is the ship ever not sinking? There is always something new ‘killing’ wow and yet things go on as usual.

Imo this lawsuit does less harm to wow than the actual game play direction and long term player burn out.

No, not at all.
I mean what I say when I say I will always support WoW. It is a game I grew up with and through all of this, I still love it and have a level of attachment to it I wouldn’t be able to describe here.

Not sure why that bothers you.

It has been said, many times over many years… The only thing that will kill WoW is Blizzard.

While it will hurt, they will survive this controversy. While subs will drop as content becomes stale, they will keep going. Just as America survived Trump, so too shall WoW.
