there in no end for this type of doom scenarios. If you don’t like don’t play it. I was playing dota and dota2 for years. When i am about to stop playing it in 2016 i did not linger in forums or some social groups to share my opinion. It is a game, if you don’t like it, don’t play, don’t look back…
I will stay and play WoW. I will continue paying for my sub. Like Hazelnutty said, there are still lots of folk of all genders who work at Blizzard and we shouldn’t punish them. I’m guessing it’s not only women who had a hard time working in these conditions.
The game will go on, Azeroth will go on, it’s a huge IP that will not just fall and disappear because of this incident. However, those involved can get fired and they can bring in a whole new team or bring back old team members and rebuild their culture just like so many companies have done before them.
If you love playing WoW don’t feel shamed into cancelling your sub. Just because you keep playing doesn’t mean you don’t care. I mean all of us have smartphones made by companies that take advantage of workers in third world countries. All of us wear clothes that were probably made in a Bangladesh sweat shop. All of us have drank coffee that isn’t fair trade. All of us support companies that do bad things. Doesn’t mean we are bad people. You can show your support in other ways and you can show your displeasure in other ways.
If you want to cancel your sub then by all means go ahead. Everyone has their own choice to make. Just don’t shame people who continue to play.

I don’t think the sinking ship analogy really holds. That would imply that if I’m still on board when it goes under, then I’ll be drowning too. But if WoW goes completely kaput right now I lose nothing. Sure I’d have to find a new way to occupy my time, but it’s not like I have any skin in the game. It would be functionally no different from me voluntarily leaving now.
I will continue to pay for and play WoW for as long as I enjoy doing so. That’s still the case for me so I don’t see any reason to leave yet regardless of what everyone else is doing. I don’t base my purchasing decisions upon the whims of others.

I have conditioned to believe that blizzard will turn the ship around, I stopped my sub about a month ago and right now I have no plans to renew it…I suspect if the raid tier for my guild ends in a few weeks, we dont have the roster for a mythic group, and the sad part is, these are the only friends I have left in this game. After that all them are gone, and whats the point of playing a dying MMO. The game is great for many reasons, but bad for others. With reguards to the recent lawsuit, its heartwrenching to say the least, and I hope justice is done for those effected, but this is going to hurt the company a lot in more ways than one, you dont even think about the boycotts theres the legal fees, litigation, civil liability this opens up…its not good for the business and heads will roll…I will gurantee it.

Keep in mind been saying SL is the last expansion before this lawsuit came out and I told everyone Blizz has the most toxic work conditions in the industry.
I just purchased a 6 month sub 2 weeks ago, damnit.
But yeah blizz is cruising at all gas no brakes into a brick wall right now.
Pissing off their customers with crappy game development. Crappy work environment for their employees. They dont have a leg to stand on.

I canceled my sub but I will probably renew it. I just don’t like to have my sub auto-renewed. I mostly like to collect stuff and just work on alts. I don’t enjoy or play the game as much as I used to, even Classic I just gave up on completely, but it is still kinda worth $15 a month imo. The lawsuit stuff really sucks but most companies are immoral behind the scenes, I’m not going to boycott every single company there is. I think there’s still fun stuff to do in the game. Just not in Korthia…
Got a couple weeks left on mine, might end up taking a hiatus for an undetermined amount of time, hopefully with them taking care of their in house issues in the meantime.
We’ll see what happens one way or another.
I was planning on taking a break from WoW once d2r comes out but decided to cancel my sub today. The tweet from the one dev attempting to redirect blame at their customers was enough for me to not want to give them another dime.
I’ll play wow till they shut servers down. It’s just ‘my game’. Plain and simple.

The twitter post I read about it said “we’re not working on World Of Warcraft today”, which the person then goes on to say it was a show of support for the victims. Today does not mean in the future, unless there is another post I didn’t see that states that development on WoW has come to a complete stop. If there is, I would appreciate a link to it.
Given the circumstances and ActBlizz’s response to these allegations though, I wouldn’t be surprised if development on ActiBlizz’s flagship product has come to a complete stop, nor would I be miffed if it was stopped until this matter was settled.
I have very little doubt that the allegations are true as I’ve seen things like this happen to women at jobs where I have worked since I retired from the Corps, and lost jobs because my response to those incidents was “inappropriate”. I’m and old cowboy and a retired Marine, so draw your own conclusions about what happened.

He basically said they were too traumatized to continue on with work as normal. So unfortunately with only that to go off of it doesn’t give us much of a reference for a timeline.
Traumatized enough to not resume work within a few weeks, or months. Obviously all very subjective.
