The Runecarver is not the Primus. The Primus has been hiding in plain sight

The statue in the seat of the Primus IS the Primus.

Fact 1). Its called the Seat of the Primus cause thats where the Primus would be.

Fact 2). We spend hours killing people, getting armor, and playing dress up with the statue. Why would a statue need armor? Because its not a statue.

Fact 3). The statue talked to us constantly. Statues don’t talk.

Fact 4). Runecarver doesn’t have horns. Primus does.

Fact 5). If someone’s looking for you, the last place they would look is INSIDE a statue.

These facts are indisputable and irrefutable. I have found the Primus.

Alternative idea…the Primus is somewhere streaking and just too embarrassed to come reclaim his clothes… (what exactly could have happened to them that they’re missing their clothes?)

It would be inappropriate for me to say on here…

Hahahaha, I could almost believe this XD. He just had the much taller statue built to throw us off and to stroke his ego, definitely sounds like Manastorm .

The runecarver and the Primus don’t exactly have the same set of fingers, so that’s what makes me think he isn’t the Primus.

I believe the Primus is hiding somewhere. The Jailer said he needed 3 more keys in the Blizcon cutscene after he obtained one from killing the Archon. I’m assuming he’s killing the Zone leaders (Archon, Primus, Winter Queen, Prince Renethal) to gather all the keys for… Something. /Shrug

Sire Denathrius was the leader of Revendreth he was an ally of the Jailer: he must already have the key. Or he is referring to the Crown of the Harvesters which contains all the powers of the medallions.

im the primus.

i think he got the second key from denathrius. renathal isnt a first one. if he had the primus key then there would only be 2 more keys

During an interview, one of the developers literally called the primus a master runesmith. something he’s never been actually called in-game or lore, only in speculation… so accidental confirmation he is the runesmith?

However my money is on Margrave Akarek being the Primus… the dude we see in the Draka Afterlives cinematic, who trained her to be an assassin and master spy, who we assumed died when the necropolis exploded, but probably just hiding, using the assumed death as cover to hide from enemies and the jailer who think he’s dead. https://youtu.be/3wtDhxtx14c?t=83

Also gotta ask why would Margrave Akarek be the target of assassination in the first place by forces under the jailer’s influence/command, unless he was someone significant.

Actually, if you go looking up concept art that’s floating around, they have the same number of fingers. Plus, not the first time we’ve seen inconsistencies like that from Blizz.

So my money is still on they’re the same person.

IDK man, seems like a stretch.

Not sure that the Runecarver is the Primus either, but it fits a lot better. The Runecarver can’t remember who he is, but knows how to craft insane weapons and armor, the Primus was known for weapon crafting.

Oh, plus they have basically the same head, helm, face thing.

He didn’t kill her. She’s still alive and was confirmed to be alive during the Q&A during Blizzcon. I still believe the Runecarver is the Primus, it just makes too much sense, so it probably won’t actually be him. Another theory is that he’s taken the form of Ve’nari to disrupt the Jailer as much as he can, and that’s why we need to become best friends with them. In a future patch we become best friends and Ve’nari tells us he’s actually the Primus.

counter point, Primus has been with us all the time, but like the greased up deaf guy, running around taunting everyone to catch him, but they cant.

The Runecarver’s horns are broken off. Both he and the Primus are giant humanoid mawrats. If you were going to hang the theory on minutiae, the statue only has four fingers. But it’s also just a statue.

Heirmir, his literal apprentice as a rune smith, calls him such. He also kinda leaves behind a runeblade “without equal” that acts as the key to his sanctum, which is said to be of his craftsmanship.

people also neglect that that’s simply just a mask/helm on that statue, and probably not the dude’s actual head. no diff than the many other necromancer looking dudes who are simply wearing a horned skull mask or any warlock player since vanilla.

bonesmith, not runesmith

IDK where the Primus is, but i do know that Draka has his key. There is no way that wording from her short is a coincidence.

The Primus is a smart man, so it makes sense that he’d give his key to somebody else before going missing.

Lost the keys to his lockbox where he stashed that 1974 Playboy with his favorite model.

So we’re responsible for finding the Primus’s new clothes?
