wrong, very wrong. did you even watch the recent EU arena tournament?
Did they break 8 participants?
me too, man. we’re so bloated with nublets, it’s crazy. what is this game becoming? amirite?
I dont remember exactly which arena tournament it was, i know it was within the last month. But what i do know is that ret takes large amounts of skill in pvp - the amount of skill that the average player here does not have.
Vanguards for example is an awesome dude who is a multiglad ret, who clearly knows his own class.
But most rets here are selfish, who dont even bother using their raid buffs in bgs. All they do is press dps buttons, hoj their kill target once in a while, and use freedom only on themselves.
This, but unironically.
When a thread divulges in toxicity, harassment, and vitriol, it gets locked.
Blizzard isn’t going to platform that type of nonsense. Either discuss something constructively or you won’t be doing it on the forums.
PS: This thread is likely to get locked as well.
Im okay with this. Theres so much misinformation going on, to the point people are trying to convince each other ret is the worst spec in pvp.
if they only have 1 DPS spec then sure. why not? im not going to be hating on other classes…i cant dps as a holy pally or prot…i mean i could…but yeah…
But how do any of these show lack of skill?
Ignoring a very large portion of your class toolkit is a very obvious sign of lack of skill. You are not going to break 1000 rating if all you have keybound is your dps rotation.
So, if I don’t buff people in my battleground… I’m bad at my class?
Yes thanks for playing.
Thats a very huge red flag for a bad player as that is a very basic noob thing to learn.
Other things include not cleansing teammates who are stuck in a magic CC, refusing to bop/hop your healer who is getting tunneled by the enemy warr/rogue, not using hoj+repent to cross CC on enemies.
If your not even gonna use a very large portion of your toolkit, why did you even roll your class to begin with?? Just because some clueless youtuber claim you will top meters?
IMO people not using their class utility isn’t specific to paladins or ret. The amount of people who refused to use interrupts was so bad that even when blizzard attached a damage increase to using one(in cata iirc?) people still didn’t do it.
If as a paladin you aren’t spot cleansing, using your BoP, spot healing with art of war when exorcism is on CD, using DI for wipe recovery, etc, etc then you are playing the class wrong. Doesn’t matter if ret was top dps or lowest, use your abilities to maximum effect for maximum success.
If you want to mindlessly hit things with a sword play warrior instead. Not an attack, just warriors have waaaaaaay less group utility than paladins bring.
Do you expect Paladin buffs every time you die, too?
Perhaps you feel you need a Kings buff to survive?
What happens when you come into a battleground after the Paladin has already finished giving out the buffs? Do you ask for a buff, or do you just sit there quietly, mumbling under your breath?
This I could agree with - I have seen this. Although, they’re typically focused on attacking the enemy more than getting me out of a bind.
I wouldn’t agree with “refusing.” I do agree that it certainly doesn’t happen every time that it COULD, but I wouldn’t say they’re refusing to do it.
So you believe they need to improve their usage of CC then? I can’t agree or disagree with this one because if I see a Paladin not using their CC in a fight, I typically assume it’s on cooldown.
I can understand your perspective, but it’s not a case of them not using their toolkit, it’s more they’re not using it the way you want them to.
I don’t know if any YouTuber has said that Ret. Paladins will be topping any damage meters.
the thread severed its purpose you asked for buffs and blizz said no thats why it was locked i imagine this thread will get locked as well
Im talking about the starting room - ya know, the room where everyone waits for the bg to begin? Because many paladins dont even buff there.
I assume you mean “served,” not “severed,” correct?
If so, that’s not true in this case, either, because we still have threads going back quite a while that have no activity, and have served their purpose, as well.
I know what you were referring to, hence my question being about when those buffs would be removed due to death.
One question I’d have, though, is that if a Warrior is able to provide a stronger AP buff (Battle Shout) than the Paladin can, would that Warrior’s shout then replace the Paladin’s buff? Personally, I’ve seen that happen.
I noticed this in the very early days of Lich King - when countless people boosted them because they’re the next hottest thing, apparently, for this expansion. However, for the most part of Lich King, I haven’t experienced this too much.
yes i did mean served thank you and yes the blue post said they are not getting any buffs so they asked and it was answered
hence why that thread served its purpose and was locked
While true, the stats gained is no joke. It can be the difference between a won or lost teamfight, and the first teamfight is where things can snowball.
That is true.
Kings cannot be replaced, and wisdom will not overtake mana spring totem.
