Asmongold in his video “State of BFA” talks about why Titanforging invalidates content in one of his segments. To sum it up, someone can just get lucky off of afking in a warfront or doing LFR and get the same gear as someone who can do Heroic content with that player not having to do heroic.

Weapons can only warforge in BFA. Just throwing that out there. I’m with you in that I hate titanforging, but weapons aren’t the culprit other than hoping for a warforge, socket, and proper tertiary.
okay lets name it warforge and it becomes something completely else suddenly? same thing my dude
Nope you stated titanforge… +10 ilvl isnt +45 like you stated… don’t move the goalposts.
Once again show me those mythical armories.
Asmongold in his video “State of BFA”
Oh please.…
Do better than THAT.
okay lets make the example boots, now you have 10 slots you need to fill even less.
so after getting the boots to titanfforge +45ilvl and a socket you have 9 slots to fill.
You can disagree with Asmon, I disagree with Asmon, but he’s right about BFA on so many aspects just look at how positively it was received. I specifically cut out the 30 seconds where he talks about Titanforging to avoid the triggering on offtopic commentary on his part.
You can disagree with someone but he’s right
If you are going to discuss this, I want your opinions, not his and really…no,
Just…no.
my man you are just being blind to what is right in your face.
You dont want to see it, are you working for blizzard? lol
FYI you can get a Titanforged weapon in BFA…only from the weekly M+ cache, and itll say Warforged, but can be more than +5 additional ilvl. Hunter in our guild got a 390 gun last week.
Okay and… someone getting lucky that wont raid anyway… why does it affect you? Do you run around inspecting people and screech when you find someone who has that?
Still havent shown me any amrories.
so after getting the boots to titanfforge +45ilvl and a socket you have 9 slots to fill.
I have never…NEVER seen any item titanforge 45 ilevels.
Thats a 350 forging to 395…yeah…NO.
exactly my point, why bother with harder content when I can get the same here?
My opinions align with his and the other people in this thread who are basically saying the same thing as him and other streamers. There is no doubt that titanforging makes higher level content feel like less effort was taken on the part of the player to earn that piece of gear.
For the same reason people go through more challenging difficulty modes in any video game, for the challenge. Sure, gear is one piece of the puzzle, but it’s not the only piece. Also, the odds of an LFR piece titanforging that high is extremely rare, as in, it’s not going to happen very often, because it’s a random roll every 5 ilvls to see how high it will warforge or titanforge. So in order to get a ilvl 340 piece to titanforge to 385 that person would need to win 9 rolls in a row.
But someone raiding mythic? They don’t have to win any titanforging rolls to get gear equal to that of the super lucky LFR raider. Also, neither weapons or azerite pieces can titanforge in this expansion, so that LFR raider will more often than not be sporting a 340 weapon (although who knows they may get lucky enough to go to 350) and 340 azerite armor, which are the pieces that give players the most power.
There is no doubt that titanforging makes higher level content feel like less effort was taken on the part of the player to earn that piece of gear.
Funny…Ive never heard anyone say that. No one on my server has…not to me anyway.
Funny how people write these huge essays about all the evils of Titanforging but then it boils down to “I don’t like that other people get good stuff!!” almost immediately.
Darkshore drops 385…a 45 ilevel boost makes them 425 boots.
425?
I dont think so.
I could care less if you don’t see it or not. From a factual standpoint, the very idea that a player could get the equivalent of heroic/mythic gear from by just running the same content over and over again or afking in a warfront and having a great amount of luck on their side speaks to how Titanforging makes greater content more trivial.
