The reasons why i believe that the wow token would be beneficial for SoD

I remember when Everquest added Krono. Obtainable in their time locked progression servers, obtainable in eq2 and able to get carried over etc. know what happened? It made Botting worse. Why? Because Krono became easy to obtain and transfer. Adding the wow token here it would absolutely get taken advantage of. Why spend 20k gold on a month’s time when you can hop clients to classic and pay 5k for the same thing and obtain the time? Why fund one account when you can fund 4 for the same price? Keep it out of here cause you bet you’ll have retail Andy’s coming over specifically to pad their game time.

Its transparent. lol

Of course the swipers are talking like token is an inevitability when GDKP goes away. Cannot fathom playing this game without real money.

Imagine playing any P2W version of WoW, especially WotLKC

People who pay extra money to skip parts of a game they pay for monthly have to be among the dumbest people on the planet.

Actually, on the contrary, people who don’t have very much free time are very smart and intelligent people.

They are the ones who have a lovely family and a thriving professional and social life, which is why they don’t spend a lot of time playing wow as well as having lots of disposable income.

You silly goose. You really think bots won’t just reduce their prices? It’s happened before and it’s still happening on wotlk. Gold has been cheaper and is already cheaper than a $20 wow token when buying from 3rd parties.

I stopped here. I just wanted to see how hard you’d get flamed and see how long it would take for some derp to come up in here and agree with you. Only took one scroll.

correct. that’s what a ceiling is

Yeah that is a very good point.

Tell me how wotlk is p2w, i really need to understand it.

Most of wow players seems like doesn’t know what p2w means.

Actually, if you were smart you’d have free time

I have a family, a 9-5, and I don’t have to cheat to enjoy the game. You too can have it all!

Pay money, buy anything you could ever want in the game because everything is for sale…

Literally letting people buy gold is still rmt. Begone.

I mean I cannot see it working in the beta for classic plus, or a server which has adjustments which will let them gradually work it to classic plus. Ideally the vanilla game should be easy with maybe 1-2 hard raids so the earliest place one might add the token would be tbc era in 2026.

i think it would work perfectly

but a 9-5 is just a job, thats different than a career like i have.

Define “every thing” because i can’t go to the blizzard shop and Buy tier or libramorte.

If You Buy a carry that is a problem created by player’s behaviour, not by the desing of the Game itself and You don’t need to Buy gold to Buy a carry.

And that is not p2w.

P2w means that You can only be competitive geared because You’re paying to the Game owner, but in this case, blizzard won’t sell You any item. Or Buy an item that is not in the Game But in the shop.

I believe this is what they call cope. P2W with extra steps at best.

let’s say that the wow token were implemented into SoD.

how is that pay to win? what exactly are you winning?

traditionally pay to win refers to games where a player can spend real life currency to obtain AN ADVANTAGE IN THE GAME THAT IS UNAVAILABLE TO FREE TO PLAY PLAYERS.

now let’s say i use real currency to buy a wow token in SoD, i exchange that token for wow gold and use the gold to purchase a BFD carry… at best, i would get gear that is available to all players, whether they are free to play or buy tokens.

so, the wow token in WoW actually isn’t pay to win, because you cannot use the wow gold to purchase an advantage that other free to play players are not able to obtain.

Almost like unlimited gold is an advantage that you pay for

but unlimited gold is also available to free to play players, is it not? a player in SoD can be free to play and farm infinite gold if they so choose, correct?

No. It isn’t. I’m not interested in stupid conversations thanks though.
