Incentivizing cheating isn’t fun. It’s destructive to the game. There are other BETTER ways to form groups for older content.
GDKP’s support botting, gold selling and buying and exploiting.

You dont care about the game at all.
Your entire focus is just getting gear to then do what? Instant gratification, thats a childs mindset. I lost a roll im such a man child im going to throw a tantrum like a freaking toddler, over a video game.
Get some perspective, the issue is you gold buyers have no life, you put all your worth and value into a video game. You already pay a monthly fee and still, spend real money for game items that you dont even own!
They can shut down servers today and you get nothing for all the crap you put so much focus into.
It means nothing, the loot is nothing. You ruin the game because the game is flooded with bots and fly hackers. It makes the game look like trash.
I love wow. Been playing since 2005. I did the grind, the loot whoring and all that. I have grown and matured from that, so now its just fun. But witnessing this arrested developmental of grown men, swiping cards for pixels is disturbing and sad.
Grow up.
you dont seem to understand that the games longevity would collapse without GDKP because old content would be impossible to form groups for which inevitably leads to people quitting and you then cant even get new people to do the current content. This is just the way incentive works in the human mind.
Yes, older content does get neglected, but not forgotten. This is one of the reasons why “fresh” is so popular. Also, there are many MMO’s that incentivize in the GAME running older content. It’s Blizzard’s job to incentivize older content…not cheaters.
GDKP only exist to support cheaters and funnel money from the cheaters to “non-cheaters” (which are actually cheaters imo) in the game.
If you take “bought” gold you are a cheater and GDKP’s support bought gold.
ill take it you will be playing Solo Self Found exclusively then and not putting items up on the AH for this very reason
Send em to the Gulag
I mean lots of things promote RMT in this game and to single everything out to it just being GDKPs as the root of all evil is misguided.
Nobody singled it out.
Anyone defending GDKP is either a gold buyer or receiving gold buyer gold and still a cheater…BAN THEM ALL.
I didn’t single it out. This thread is about GDKP. We could easily argue that everything that requires gold in this game promotes RMT.
Blizzard just needs to take a hard stance on the gold buyers since the gold buyers are the only ones with something to lose.
I think that as far as the impact of GDKPs goes, this phase will be where the impact is felt the least.
Small raid sizes, early game economy, not a lot to spend gold on at the moment. With that being said, (assuming) the raid sizes will get bigger and the economy will fill out more. Like OP said, AH is fairly tame right now outside of people putting BoEs for absurd prices. More people in the raid = more loot competition = higher bids = whales buying gold. I know that there are some people that farm gold legit and then hop into a gdkp to get their gear more easily, but let’s be honest that is an outlier not the norm. Even those who make their gold ‘legit’ by just doing gdkps over and over again are most likely holding onto a decent amount of ill-gotten gains.
I think you need to seek help IRL tbh. You sound very unstable.
This is completely untrue. There are still BiS items from old content. Onslaught girdle, accuria, thunderfury, etc.
yes and even those will only incentivize people so much to continue going. ive lived it and know it to be true. every person that gets the item they need is one less person joining the raid the following week
tell me what incentive a priest.mage ect have going back for these? are you gonna go back and solo this on your rogue/warrior? lmfao
Join a real guild. It’s an MMO and meant to be played with others.
I speak from experience in a real guild back in 2004-2006. the old raids die when people get geared up because there is no incentive to do them. then as people quit you cant replace them because you havent been gearing up new people in the old raids. Now you cant even do the newer content
Pokimane is that you?
I’ve been playing WoW since day 2 and I’m calling shenanigan’s on the dead raid argument for defending GDKP’s.
The only thing that killed Original raids was Blizzard releasing TBC…which effectively and POORLY killed all old content.
Cheating is not a game mechanic to support old content.
To help guildmates get gear because they didn’t get as lucky on loot. There’s no incentive to help out a random pug though.
But GDKP also ostrasizes fresh 60s who aren’t swiping or alts with gold. It’s not as if it encourages new players to start/continue playing the game. Why would I go farm gold on a fresh 60 if I could just join a guild and get funneled for free?
So did you mean broke in game or real life I’m curious
