This is a strawman argument that all gold buyers (cheaters) use.
The AH in and of itself was not created to support RMT whales cheat at the game. The AH is Blizzard created mechanic and GDKP’s is a cheater created mechanic.
Obtaining gold through cheating (RMT’s) and accepting gold through cheating (GDKP’s) is the topic of discussion. Not trying to defend cheating by creating arguments that make absolutely no sense.
The difference is OBVIOUS.
Pro tip trading gold to another player is a blizzard created mechanic as is ML so exactly the same as the AH.

C’mon…you know your cheating if you buy RMTgold. You know you’re cheating if accept bought RMTgold. GDKP are simply a way for people to cheat at the game. Whales get to RMT equipment and poor people get to cheat by helping the whales and getting RMTgold through GDKP.
This isn’t hard to understand. People are trying to justify cheating in any way they can. It’s sad.

You wont really notice it now as people are leveling alts, farming mats and leveling professions while leveling alts. As you get to end game rare items like devilsaur leather, black lotus, rightous orbs and so on. People will charge rediculous amounts because they know there are more gold buyers out there as GDKP encourages people to buy gold so they can buy items in GDKP.
The TOS compliant version at the moment is people buy wow tokens on retail, sell them for the gold to then buy a spot in a boosted raid.
The classic era/hardcore/Sod version of this is buy gold from a gold seller and go do a GDKP.
Do all GDKP people buy gold? No.
Do all gold buyers do GDKP? No.
Do they often go hand in hand? Yes
People are going to sell a flasks for inflated prices because there are tons of GDKPers running around out there with a few thousand gold each because they either just did a raid and got paid out or are about to go do one so are sitting on a stack.
Bottom line. GDKP greatly increases gold buying, and gold buying inflates the market.

If you are farming gold and doing GDKP’s and the transaction are reasonable then good for you, honestly. But you are small fish in a very large pond. Your probably not contributing to the porblem with your little transactions you and your friends do but there are bigger fish out there that are, and they make a difference.
We both run pretty large gdkp discords, with blinks being one of benedictions most premier. I’d say we have a much larger impact than you think and have a far longer and more connected history then you ever can get lol
Then Blizzard should catch those people who buy gold and bot.
It’s not my job to police their game just like I wouldn’t expect people to stop using the AH even tho bots massively contribute to the supply on the AH or the person who buys auctions might be using good they bought off a website.

Eh I don’t really run anything, I have certain privileges from being in HUNKS because they are the people running Imagine Caring gdkp, which is benedictions largest gdkp discord.
I basically just get special treatment, like if I sign up to any of the 20+ weekly runs I’m pretty much auto rostered type of thing.
I have been in HUNKS since the week before Ulduar launched.

So you’re going to go with “just ignore them, don’t go to GDKPs and it doesn’t affect you.”
Fine, but every time I log on to any version of this game and attempt to engage with chat, the group finder, or whatever I’m bombarded with ads for carries. This is primarily what new players see and there’s no way its good for the game. Its also about #1 on my list of things I associate with “retail WoW.” And it creates a false perception that this is how the game works and this is what its about. Coincidentally I feel this is a much larger issue in WOTLK classic megaservers and a big reason why I choose not to play on those servers.
Its supposed to be a world of warcraft not a greyhound bus station. If 80 homeless people hit me up for money every time I drive to a certain neighborhood or part of a city i’m just not going to go there if I can avoid it.
All this means is that you both have contributed a great deal to the RMT problem in WoW.
The only people contributing to the RMT problem are the people buying gold, the people blizzard refuses to police so I guess blizzard is also complacent in the RMT problem.
Blizz should pay attention to these threads, its obvious who the p2s kiddos are they could just ban from here and make a lot of progress getting rid of gold buyers. Just keep reporting GDKP’s, its working as all the p2w kiddos are complaining about account actions. Cheers!
